Arkael502
Hey, I've recently switched over to the vortex manager and I'm having some issues! I used to mod Skyrim SE back in 2017/mid 2018 but lost all my mods when I did a fresh install of steam so when I decided to get back into Skyrim Installed and started using the new Vortex manager. 90% of my mods works perfectly find and I've been using LOOT and Wyre Bash to sort and do level lists for all the item mods but now a couple of them just aren't working. It seems the mods in question are anything involving whiterun, and SoS (Schlongs of Skyrim SE). At first I tried using the Whiterun HD mod but it wasn't working so I disabled it and tried using Skyland Whiterun, and of course that mod wasn't loading either. I then tried to use Whiterun's Trees overhaul but that isn't working either, and I'm also thinking my Skyland mod isn't working aswell. I checked to see if any ESPs are missing and low and behold all the mods listed above don't have ESP files. I'll post a image of where those files should be located with other ESP files. I also checked my mod staging folder and all the mods are in their respect folders. The only ESP file that is showing is the Whiterun trees yet the mod isn't working in game. The wierd thing is some files from the mods are showing in the meshes like for SoS and some of the Whiterun mods, I'll put a link with photos. Thanks for your time and hopefully we can solve this ! EDIT: Sorry for shitty pictures ahead of time I was kinda in a rush when I took them, if you need better for reference please let me know.EDIT2: After playing for a few hours I'm noticing other mods are having the same issue. Visible Favored Gear is doing it aswell. I'm installing these through Vortex by dragging the .rar files for each mod into the download box on Vortex if that helps. Pickysaurus
If the ESP is missing (and there should be one) it sounds like the mod wasn't installed properly. Try reinstalling the mods you're having problems with.
Arkael502
That's what I figured I should do, but I've done it multiple times, and still the mods aren't showing ESP files. I was thinking of giving MO2 a try along with Vortex and see if the ESP files are able to install with that. Will anything negative happen if I try to use both applications? rmm200
From your description, it sure sounds like you are not clicking Deploy... Edited to add:DO NOT USE TWO MOD MANAGERS ON THE SAME GAME
Arkael502
Yeah I've been deploying everything, although I was installing alot of mods at the same time to try and get my game modded as fast as possible so I could get to playing it xD, so I'm going through all my mods that aren't showing .ESP files and deleting them completely and reinstalling them one at a time. Hopefully this fixes this issue, and thanks for telling me not to use to managers I was legit about to install M02 and start adding mods into it xD. Rattledagger
A quick look shows neither the Skyland (mod 13015) nor the HD (mod 16176) has any esp in the archive so for obvious reasons you'll not have any esp after installing either. Schlongs on the other hand seems to include both esm + esp, so unless you've choosen the wrong FOMOD-options (if it's even possible) you should have both here. Arkael502
Yeah I just had the wrong files downloaded for SoS, I got the correct file and now I'm reinstalling everything. Since Skyland doesn't have an ESP file I don't think I'll have any issues with that, the only thing I'm concerned about is Visible Favorited gear, and Whiterun Tree's Overhaul were having the same issue and I'm pretty sure both of those should have ESP files. Ontop of them not having ESPs neither of them were functioning in game, whenever I went into Whiterun it was still the Vanilla Whiterun and my weapons that were favorited were not showing on my character, as well as nothing showing in the MCM for both mods. Rattledagger
Whiterun Tree's Overhaul and Visible Favorited gear both includes esp, neither seems to include MCM. Now I've not tested either mod, so no idea if they work or not. Have you tried starting a new character after installing the mods, to rule out you using an old save-game where "wrong" settings in save-game means mods aren't working? BTW, Vortex includes LOOT-functionality, meaning you should either use Vortex to sort the mods and don't use external LOOT or Wrye Bash for this, or, you should disable auto-sorting in Vortex under plugins-tab and make sure to never manually sort in Vortex and instead always use LOOT and/or Wrye Bash to sort the plugins. Also, from the first picture, you've got a scripts.zip in that seems to be the data-folder. My guess is this is you incorrectly installing SKSE64, in case you created a scripts.zip? rmm200
Scripts.zip is OK. That is a file installed by Bethesda every time a new Skyrim SE update comes out. It is 13MB on my system - not a typical mod file.
