Using Vortex but when try to download it tries to use Nexus Mod Manager

I have moved to Vortex and set it to handle downloads from the Nexus mods pages but when I do a download using the Vortex or Mod Manager buttons it still opens Nexus Mod Manager to get the download.

 

• I have checked the settings in Vortex and it is set to handle the downloads.
• Clicking on the update mod button for a mod in Vortex takes me to the correct page on Nexus Mods.
• Selecting any but the manual download opens Nexus Mod Manager which then fails because it can no longer get access to the Nexus Mods.

It should be using Vortex.

 

Do I need to restart Windows to get this to work? (Or maybe turn round three times ;-)? )

Are you using Firefox or a Mozilla browser?

 

Firefox has it's own dumb protocol handling separate to windows.

 

You should be able to change it by checking the settings described here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/change-firefox-behavior-when-open-file

 

Nexus Mods downloads are referred to as NXM protocol links.
