it takes a lot to run 1080i? (or did you mean P. 1080p is better than i right? my TV will do both tho).

didn't think it would take that much for an hdtv since i'm reading of folks with 3 monitors and using res like 5600x blah blah.

Yea, 1080p. That's what I use too. Over the years, I just got used to saying 1080i.

I'd say I use a large amount of texture mod's and my computer has no problem's playing at 1920x1080 on a 23" monitor(i also sometimes play on my 50" LCD) with Skyrim setting's maxed out + being pushed a little further with .ini tweaks.

I haven't read much about the 7970, but it is a generation above my GPU so it should defiantly have no problems.

Here are my spec's

3.7ghz AMD Phenom II x6 1090T processor

AMD Saphhire HD6950 (2gb DDR5) graphic's card

8gb DDR3 system memory

When I disable trifire and only use one GPU with my system, my fps falls from ~70 to ~30. I noticed this yesterday when I was trying to get ENB to work correctly (Apparantly crossfire isn't working properly with this, so I went back to RCRN instead). It seems crossfire is scaling very well with Skyrim nowadays, compared to a half year ago when it could give you negative performance.

I have a HD6990 and a HD6970 (Primary), so when disabling the HD6990 and its 2 GPU's I practically lost 20fps per GPU. So I guess that could give you an idea of how much performance you can gain with just one more GPU. But it probably depends a lot on your surroundings and situation. This was measured in Riverwood.

I'm using the latest AMD drivers (12.8 ) and have a complete install of Texture Pack Combiner (Except for Project Prallax) with maximum resolutions, as well as most other texture-mods mentioned in STEP 2.2 and a few additional choices of my own for gear and bodies. Runs like a charm! So the new HD79xx-series should run it even better.
