rjnagy70
So I am trying to free up some mod slots by merging some plugins. I know the basic rules such as armor with armor, clothers with clothes, etc. I also have all the necessary tools installed. I watched gamer poets tutorial. My question is say I want to merge two followers for example but the follower mod uses I believe what is called a fomod installer, an installer where you have to make choices, I hope I am correct with that otherwise I look like an idiot. Can I still merge that file and what is the effect?
HadToRegister
If you're using Vortex as a mod manager, just turn your plugins "Light", (Vortex will convert them to ESPfe, or ESL) instead of merging
HadToRegister
Or, follow this tutorial to ESLify your smaller plugins so they don't take up any space ESLify (A Guide to ESL Flag Your Plugins And Maintain Your Plugin Limit)MUCH easier than merging plugins
rjnagy70
Currently using Nexus....been using Nexus for a long time...At one point tried Vortex and remember having a whole lot of issues with Vortex....I don't know if it is still buggy like that...just to show you and not sure if it updates itself or not but I still have Vortex on the box and it is at 17.
rjnagy70
And don't get me wrong I am open to vortex especially if it gets me around the 255 limit....I just don't know if it is more stable than before....If I remember correctly, alot of the issues surrounded what Vortex saw as conflicts or maybe with what it would enable or disable. rjnagy70
Tried the second way there which has you change things to esl's in ssedit. At the end it would not let me back them up because they had an esl flag. I did get a snipping capture of the ones I set the flag on so we'll see. rjnagy70
have you done either of these methods.....as I stated I am using NMM so it would seem it doesn't directly recognize esl's but that shouldn't really matter as long as nmm sees it as installed would that be the correct logic? I've done BOTH methods.I did the FO4Edit method for Fallout 4, and once Vortex updated to 0.18.9, I did turned 75 of my Skyrim SE mods to ESPfe using Vortex. rjnagy70
what is the difference between esp w/esl flag which is what your calling light in vortex and espfe? I'm wondering if they are the same. Watched Gamer Poets video on esp to esl while leaving the esp extension. Ran SSEdit and I think there were four I was able to change. The rest would have required compacting the form id which everything I read on that is a no no. That's why I am wondering if Vortex is doing something else if you were able to move 75. ESPfe is an ESL, but it's still called an ESP, but it takes no space just like an ESL
