DrakeTheDragon
I was having someone with similar issues, unable to download my mod from any of the Nexus servers. It always interrupted and ended up incomplete.I was asked to split the archive and maybe host it elsewhere, so his dial-up wouldn't cause as much trouble anymore. So I did and uploaded multiple small packages to my MediaFire account. After he successfully downloaded all of them over a course of a couple days, he was still unable to extract everything. Turned out most of the files he downloaded didn't have the right size but were, again, interrupted inbetween without any error or warning. This seems to not be a Nexus-exclusive issue as of late, but over the course of the recent fileserver infrastructure redesign I can understand it's become very prominent the last months. Let's hope the new infrastructure, once completely introduced, will solve this issue as well once and for all. For what it's worth, I for one never experienced any issues coming even remotely close in numerous download attempts over the last months. Not even a single one aborted, was interrupted or failed in any other way. And my internet connection isn't exactly top-notch either. It is a very mysterious issue. Cathair
I'm also having a lot of issues with failed downloads. On rare occasion I've been able to download files in the 70-90mb range, but most days it'll barely hit 30mb before suddenly self-aborting. On other forums, some people have reported better luck using NMM, but for me it exhibits the exact same behavior. I can't recall ever having the nexus drop downloads like this before. It started back when the site was getting hammered after the release of Dawnguard, but that's long been over, and the same problems persist. I'm not one to start complaining instantly in the case of technical difficulties, but after going on for, what's it been, almost two months? It's starting to get really annoying. juhana
Would you please make a 400 MB file available for testing?Direct download without login requirement so that I may testwith wget and browsers. Place the test file to every server. I test them all. How about http, ftp, etc protocols? I guess any file server arrangements won't help if thebug is deep inside the system. As I said, the same proplemis at Rapidshare, and not elsewhere. Better test whilethe problem exists. Basically I don't understand the issue. The system knowsthat we are downloading 400 MB file because it is displayedin the download list. Just read until we have read all of them. I don't understand the fuzz about continuing the interrupteddownload. fseek() has been available for 30-40 years!Yet ability to continue the download is for Web peoplelike something extraordinary. (And if the download freezes, this browser has only two options: keep the defunctionaldownloading in the list, which makes no sense, or deletethe file -- loosing what was already downloaded.) deftech
I have also been experiencing very frustrating download issues over the past month. At first I thought it might be server load issues so I decided to try out the premium membership. Unfortunately the problems persisted no matter what nexus server I used. Like others have reported the problems are most evident when trying to download anything over ~20MB or so. Honestly though, I've seen the same issues with files as small as 2MB. Basically I get short bursts of connection with the nexus servers with absolutely no connection between the bursts. These cycles continue until I've downloaded about 15MB and then during one of downtimes the download eventually times out. (BTW these are manual downloads I'm referring to) If anyone has any suggestions they would be most welcome. I've tried multiple browsers, download managers, AV and firewall disabled, safe mode w/networking, but nothing seems to work.
nfckitten
AV and firewall disabled I don't know or care who you are but please never, ever, EVER do that again... no matter what the reason, NEVER disable firewall/AV... But back to the point at hand... my problem is I can't get the advanced features of any DL manager to work, file splitting or resume... mostly everything I have downloaded has worked but without resume the ~700MB of .98GB I was at when my internet died was lost and I have to download that again... very annoying as it's the reason I got the premium... I am currently using DTA and tried the Skyrim Mod Organizer downloader... which just comes up with "Failed download" and DTA wont resume or download with more than one segment... no matter what the server... Zlxp1234
Let's not talk about the debatable need of firewalls/AV. (Small Client Technician Here) Anyways, This download overhaul has yet to been activated, it's still hell to download. Constant Interruptions. I guess it doesn't matter whether you are a free user, or a premium. They still have yet to release it. Or assist with these issues.
