Hello, everybody

I registered new account, got activation letter.

In letter validation URL was incorrect

http:// forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?app=core&module=global§ion=register&do=auto_validate&...

The right URL is

http:// forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?app=core&module=global&section=register&do=auto_validate&...

You must change "§" on "&sect" in URL !

PS Also emal checking is evil. It not accepted any of my email boxes :-(

We have no idea why some mail providers change this part of the email for their customers. I've checked this many times and the email our servers send out is correct. It is altered by your mail provider as it reaches you for reasons completely unknown to us.

So why there is no validation link on the homepage itself?

Not even in the settings or user control panel.

New users have to paste the whole url and replace those symbols with other symbols to get to any proper homepage where you can finally validate.

Even if mail providers are to blame for changing the url in the first place, your user interface is still terrible without any kind of validation button/link.

Are you blaming your homepage provider for that now?!

To even think about the massive scam options during the registration process, which wants to trick people to pay money for a service they normally wont get, if they arent able or willing to waste a lot of time and luck to find this one specific board thread here is ridiculous.

No one is "tricking" anybody. Only woefully out-of-date mail services/servers have a problem with the url, as noted in Dark0ne's post #5 in this topic. With over 10 million members who have manged to complete the process, I don't think it's the Nexus that's causing the problem...
