Dovahkiin by design?

Because when Alduin attacked Helgen the Dovahkiin did not know who he was. He did not don't know what he wanted. If he was looking for ransom, he could have told him he did not have money. But what he did have is a very particular set of skills; skills he has acquired over a very long career. Skills that make him a nightmare for creatures like Alduin. If he gave his sweetroll back now, that'll be the end of it. He will not look for Alduin, he will not pursue him. But if he doesn't, he will look for him, he will find him, and he will kill Alduin.

XD!

(@Thomas, look at the trailer for the movie Taken. ^^ )

My dovahkiin... Its all in her name... Ishara Mera'din Its taken directly from the Wheel of Time series. Ishara was one of the first if not the first queen of Andor. Mera'din are "the brotherless" Aiel who've broken off from clan and sept.

She's a Redguard. A very lite skinned Redguard. (see avatar pic.. that's her) Most likely, Nord blood is mixed in but that isn't for certain. She's descended from royalty tho she does not know that specifically. All she knows is that she was raised by a kind woman who found her wrapped in a blanket at the foot of a statue to Dibella. She's a loner. She has no known family or friends to call her own. Instead she wanders around looking for work, looking for those that she can help. In a sense she's a mercenary. She's heard of a group of women blessed by Dibella, known as Temptresses. Having spent her first hours under the watchful eye of Dibella, she feels that maybe if she finds these Temptresses she may yet find a "family" to call her own. The whole dovahkiin idea is new to her and it's a shock & surprise that she absorbs the soul of a dragon.

there are some flaws tho....

  • the Temptresses aren't very talkative
  • they don't have a central headquarters
  • aren't even a faction that could be joined
  • priests of Dibella don't even recognize Temptresses as being blessed by Dibella....

If someone could correct those....

It's very convenient for my Orc character because the strongholds exist in Skyrim. I feel that being Dragonborn is a thing likelier to happen to natives of Skyrim (since the land is so closely linked to Talos of Atmoria and his exploits). Yes my Orc is not the least bit Nordic, but he's as much a native of Skyrim as any Nord. That's how I justify being Dragonborn.

For more backstory, I pretend that my Orc left Skyrim at an early age (Maybe he went to Cyrrodil or something). He became an Imperial soldier, training for the day when the uneasy peace fostered by the White-Gold Concordat would shatter. News of the civil war and Ulfric's rise to power reached him, and he demanded to be transferred to the Imperial legion division in Skyrim. When his request was refused he sold all of his belongings and made for Skyrim. I'd like to think that being the unknowing Dovahkiin and feeling the call of destiny to destroy the recently awakened Alduin motivated this rash decision. As he was finally crossing the border, he heard a mighty FUS that boiled his dragon blood. He was drawn to its source. What he had heard was Ulfric's Thuum. That's how he ended up at the fight between the Stormcloaks and the Imperials. My character tried to help the Imperials, attempting to gain a good enough standing to rejoin them, but he was seen as a threat and captured, thrown in a cart with Ulfric and the horse thief, and well... you know the rest.
