Radioactivelad
Anyone know how to go about making a properly bald hairstyle? In the vanilla game the closest there is a shaved style (Called Buzz Saw in-game.) This however is still technically hair, affected by haircolor, and does not show the character's actual scalp texture along the back and sides of the head. I've only managed to kludge a workaround with a model-less armor piece set to occupy the "Hair" biped slot. This gives a true bald look, but is not ideal for obvious reasons. Attempting the same methodology with an actual Hairstyle just causes the Geck/Game to crash. Would a blank dummy nif be enough? If so how would I make such a thing? madmongo
If you look at a hair nif, it typically has two objects inside of it, called hat and nohat, and also has a head bone for the armature. Hat is the hair object that is displayed on your character or NPC if they are wearing something that takes up the hat slot in the GECK, and nohat is the hair object that is displayed if they are not wearing anything that takes up the hat slot. If you want to create a blank hair nif, just copy one of the existing hair nifs, then go into nifskope and remove both the hat and the nohat branches, so that only the head bone for the armature remains. Then go into the GECK and create a new hair that uses this nif, make it playable and for male and female as desired, and finally add that hair to whatever races you want to use it with. Radioactivelad
Nice! Curiously, women seem to have have a buzzcut drawn directly on their skin texture, but that's another issue entirely. Thanks a lot!
