missingno11
Over the last few weeks I have modded Fallout 4 from the ground up 5 times (with completely different load orders each time, around 100-220 mods each time). I've been modding bethesda games for a while and have done so on this same PC a few times before, and I have never noticed this issue. While game stability was decent each time, the one thing that really really bothered me were the huge amounts of LOD/Object pop in, not just fade, but very jarring pop in. I had everything set to ultra and was getting a solid 60fps everywhere, but this one little issue bugged me to no end. I tried re modding the game with no texture enhancements at all to see if it was a vram issue, but alas the pop in was still annoying me to no end. I seriously don't know if I was doing something wrong with LOD generation or if this was just a hard fact of life. The only way I was able to stop this issue was to set Ugrids to 7, but I really don't know if the potential side effects and severe fps drop is worth it. I have uninstalled all my mods since then so I can't give a load order. I just seriously want to know if pop in will always be an issue that I have never noticed before because of the creation engine, or if this is because of mistakes made while modding/hardware. I was running an enb on every single load order, if that would impact this issue at all.My specs:(I tried running Fallout 4 off an SSD and a HDD and I was getting this issue on both, only real difference was the load times in actual loading screens)i7-8700 @ 3.20GHzNvidia GTX10808GB of VRAM, 16GB of RAMI also tried modding Skyrim LE, hoping that the older modding community would have a solution to this issue, but still the same thing. Currently building a load order for SE, because I have heard good things about the stability of it, but I haven't got my hopes up.Very sorry if I have done something wrong with the creation of this topic, this is my first time posting in quite some time. tekmage
Try using this mod. Faraway Area Reform. Use the performance ones. Just as good as the regular.
missingno11
Try using this mod. Faraway Area Reform. Use the performance ones. Just as good as the regular. Thank you for the reply, I did try using this mod, as well as generating my own LODs. So Iâm really at the point where I am suspecting that this is just a fault of the creation engine more than anything else.
tekmage
It is pretty strange you are having this problem considering what you are running it on. I have zero LOD pop-up issues and I'm on a real potato. I highly doubt the fault is the Creation engine this time. It is very likely an altered .ini change on your part coming from a mod/mods or a conflict of some sort between multiple mods you are using. Posting your load order might help the people on the forum to help you but with so little info given, it is pretty hard to determine where your problem is actually coming from. Its a pretty bad video honestly but these kinds of open valley-ish areas are the ones where it was most noticeable while i was playing. It only really shows grass, but I did experience a bridge popping in from the low quality LOD version at awfully close range, if more examples are needed I can find some more.https://youtu.be/e5OCu-MmXfs
tekmage
That is some of the worst LOD pop-ins I've ever seen. I would start with disabling the usual suspects such as enhanced lights and fx mod and flicker fixer. Disable mods that affect entire DLC and touches on the base mod next. There is a lot of mods in your load order I'm unfamiliar with so I'm not going to be much help except the above advice. You might also consider converting the FAR mod to an ESL flagged esp and move it to be right under the startmeup esp as to possibly override whatever could be conflicting with the LOD meshes FAR altered as well. missingno11
I tried disabling those mods and nothing changed. Then I disabled my entire load order, and somehow the issue became worse. I am going to do a complete reinstall of the game and the .ini files as well to see if this issue happens on a completely blank slate.
tekmage
Maybe, something got corrupt in your game save.
missingno11
I doubt that that would be the cause. I've been trying to learn how to mod better and more cautiously. I'm aware of how saves are affected by mods in Bethesda games, so basically whenever mods are uninstalled I start a new game essentially.
