EojjN
It seems fairly obvious to me that the new Hearthfire DLC is not going to be the groundbreaking change to gameplay we might have been hoping. From what I've read and from the trailer etc, it seems pretty clear to me (and I'm sure most of you) that the new DLC is not much more than one of those 'magically appearing house mods'.When I first heard about it I thought it was gonna be something like the building of houses that is possible in "The Sims" series, and so was disappointed to find out its true nature.I know that adding a gameplay feature like that would take away from traditional RPG gameplay style etc, but at the same time, the option adds a nice chance to be creative IN game.So my question is: do you guys reckon that Hearthfire will improve over time from mods etc or not? Kraeten
I reckon it won't. Hearthfire is bland compared to player abodes that have already been created. In terms of modularity, the Build Your Own Home mod offers more customization as well.
Thoragoros
What Bethesda failed to realize is that they really need to beef up the RPG/Functionality of the non-combat areas of their game. Seriously, Skyrim desperately needs developer made, non-combat features. They should have fleshed out the marriage feature. They should have fleshed out their non-combat employment areas. They could have given functionality to non-combat jobs such as woodcutting, smithing, enchanting, etc.., much like other, modern big-time rpgs. Skyrim needs to add some "Role Play." Most rpg-players want to do more than run around mindlessly hitting stuff with a sword. Really, they should have done anything they could have to shift some much needed focus onto areas that are more than just hack-and-slash. Some of the most popular mods available right now are mods that allow the player to do more than kill things. The non-combat area of Skyrim is painfully lacking. It really is a game thats got more than just hitting stuff with a sword, the problem is all that other stuff is disasterously badly done! Pure laziness I'd say!
