cowgirl1776 Posted August 5, 2019 Share Posted August 5, 2019 I'm a bit confused. Skyrim is failing to start (no logo or indication it even launched) and I don't know what is causing it. It doesn't appear to be a missing master, or at least LOOT is not flagging me about anything missing. The last time I launched Skyrim it functioned correctly and each time I installed a new mod I would launch the game and rush around the map to check for stability. anjenthedog Posted August 5, 2019 Share Posted August 5, 2019 If you have SKSE installed and if you normally run SKSE via a link/button in Vortex, I'd recommend troubleshooting by dragging a shortcut of the SKSE executable (skse64_loader.exe) from the /data/SKSE folder to your desktop and trying to launch the game from that shortcut, to see if the game will launch correctly. If it does launch successfully from that shortcut, check your SKSE linkage in Vortex for possible issues. I've read (in passing) some folks having issues with game launch from Vortex, and as I recall, it came down to some problem in their Vortex profile) FWIW... I tried it, but alas nothing changed for me. I did a clean reinstall on another drive and peculiarly I still have the same issue. I can't say I've ever encountered this before and I'm left scratching my head. I imagine that it must be unrelated to a mod or utilities if a clean Skyrim is giving me the same problem. What confuses me the most is that I had tested my mod list for stability each time I added something new and it ran just fine. I came back a few months later and now it will not even reach the menu. Maybe stream had to update or Windows had to update, or windows itself had some other issue, or something like that. FWIW, my laptop sometimes refuses to cooperate. (I mean, as in it won't even connect to the network sometimes). Usually, once I reboot, I find that it updated this or that...usually its a security scan related thing but also sometimes an incremental update. c0ax599 Posted August 13, 2019 Share Posted August 13, 2019 (edited) If you got a "Skyrim" mod installed for SE without converting it, your Skyrim SE will not load and no message.
