Hearthfire so unoriginal

Billions of people already bought Skyrim. Millions more will, perhaps as many as another billion.

LMFAO! Billions? Perhaps you are unaware that the entire human species is made up of less than 7 billion people? And most of them don't play video games. Do you even know how much a billion is?

Semantics Bryan...who cares....Your trolling for the pure sake of trolling.

I just thought it was funny. Maybe I'm the one who got trolled?

Semantics are important if you want people to take you seriously.

Don't worry Frosty, I'll get sick of this forum soon enough.

Ah....your noticing too that I seem to be taking up the habit of calling you out on your less than cordial comments...your quite berating of people as I am sure you are already aware....smile all you want at my vain attempts at trying to point out a little civility to you...though I must say I am glad you are choosing to smile rather than snarl...though I would prefer not feeling the need to call you out at every turn on the forum....we shall see.... :ohdear: .... . But for now...I am very well aware that the world is not rainbows and unicorns (reference to other thread)....though I see no reason to compromise one's own integrity in favor of an 'eye for an eye' and all that sh*t.... ....

I just hope billions of people don't read every time I get p'wned.

Anyways, back on topic...

I am looking forward to this dlc. It doesn't matter to me if it is unoriginal because official content is sure to be loaded with detail. And anything they leave out will surely get modded in soon after release. As far as what Bethesda should and should not release as a dlc... I leave it up to them. The last thing I want to happen is for a great series to get lame because the company decided to sell out like every other game. There will always be negative opinions about any product because we don't all like the same stuff, but the game wouldn't be as good as it is if the creators didn't know what they were doing. People have this common attitude that Bethesda can't do anything right, but it's ironic because if they hadn't then why would they be so important to criticize? Skyrim is a fantastic game, so anything they make for it will no doubt be awesome as well.

I guess we don't need to make more homsteads from mods anymore until Hearthfire comes out. :(

I have to be honest here, I don't see much if anything that will actually help house mods going forward with the Hearthfire DLC, there are already a lot of resources for people to develop some sick houses. There are even more comprehensive "Hearthfires" that have been developed anyway - unless you simply have to have the parenting aspect of the DLC.

Seriously, you can actually build a house anywhere in game right now, in a multitude of styles and place your own furniture to decorate it the way you want. Yeah, it's time consuming - but why bother making a home unless it's where you want it and is decorated the way you want it anyway - if you play on the PC?

Stemin, just quote the whole damn post instead of sub-quoting everything. It's really overkill and just wastes thread screenspace.

Sub quoting clarifies exactly what I'm referring to in each response so it isn't taken out of context. It also helps me remember each point of what you said that I want to address. If you don't like it, you don't have to respond to me.

You are taking this personally, don't. Worst thing you can do is to get bent out of shape over a game. The housewife doesn't want to roleplay a housewife - accept it and move on. Not everyone agrees with the direction of that DLC.

Added: If this were a house DLC pimping thread I wouldn't even be in it - because I wouldn't agree with the position of the OP anyway.

I really don't think you have a good understanding of what's going on here if you think I'm bent out of shape, and in probably 15-20 years on the internet (yes, that long) it gets really old listening to people try to apply 'tone' to text based conversations because they just assume I should talk like everyone else. I really have nothing more to say to you. I never said or implied this was a DLC pimping thread. I actually said almost the exact opposite.

I'm not going to quote everything you said because there's just too much quite frankly. But I will try to address the gist of your response to me. First off, I don't have "pissing matches" with people. You responded to my statement, so I responded to yours. That's called common courtesy, not match pissing. If you don't want me to respond to you, then don't respond to what I say. Nothing more to it. I don't understand what you mean by not everyone might agree with my opinion on the whole buying what you want and not buying what you don't want topic. It's not a matter of opinion; it's a matter of fact. As a consumer you buy what you want to buy. Would you go into a store and buy every piece of clothing attached to a brand you like? Of course not, since the fact that you like the brand doesn't mean you like everything they made. The same is for games and DLCs. I like American Eagle, so i'm going to buy the clothes I like from them. That's how I support American Eagle, by buying what they make that I like. I don't randomly buy their clothes that I don't like because I like American Eagle..That's ridiculous. That's the way you are sounding to the people responding to you when you say you're buying the Hearthfire DLC because it's "only" $5...That's not the point. I completely understand where you're going with that though. The fact is though that if I see a 10 cent piece of candy that I don't like, i'm not going to buy it because it's only 10 cents and in the American Eagle store. Sure buying that piece of candy might contribute to their sales, but that doesn't mean i'm going to buy it anyway.

If you don't like or care for the Hearthfire DLC but buy it anyway to support Bethesda, that's donating pretty much. But on top of donating it's sending the wrong message, that you are encouraging them to make DLC that you might not like. Not too smart in my opinion.

Well that's your opinion. I still see you pigeon holing my reasoning into one single reason instead of looking at all of them and I don't agree with your analogy. Also, I did not say that not everyone would agree with your reasoning, I said that not everyone might agree with your opinion of your purchase.

You say this isn't a pissing match, but your response certainly seems to indicate that you have a certain agenda in your interpretations of my posts in this thread.

Why don't we just agree not to respond to each other in this thread? I really don't have much more to say to you if can't seem to communicate what I mean anyways.

No, you have never attacked me....it appears though maybe that we are drawn to the same threads and so run into each other a great deal...and in you saying you have noted my comments in regards to my Dovahkin, I have like wise noticed your very strong opinions in regards to people modding Skyrim.

I don't have a problem with people modding skyrim. That's too simplified an explanation. I do have issues with things related to modding skyrim, but as you say, you have no interest in discussing or debating these issues.

My sincere apologies if that is the impression I gave you...that was not my intention, I did not take it personally and it was not meant to be taken that way....Sorry...

Well I'm glad, because I don't have an issue with you at all.

I don't pigeon hole anyone's reasoning, I'm just saying how I interpreted it. You sound like a broken record saying the same things over and over again without explaining them, so I have to take the initiative to decipher what they mean like the damn da vinci code. "Well that's your opinion" "You have an agenda" "It's only $5" Yeah we get it mate.

Why don't we just agree not to respond to each other in this thread? I really don't have much more to say to you if can't seem to communicate what I mean anyways.

How about you just elaborate and explain for once what you mean. If everyone on this thread doesn't understand what you're saying, maybe it isn't our fault that we can't communicate what you mean..

Yeah, I guess Bethesda is known for those little add-ons that they call DLC's only by themselves.

Oblivion had a sh*t ton of them - going from player abodes to weapons, I guess they wanted to enhance gameplay to the X360 and PS3 players since they can't mod their game like the PC community.
