  1. 1. Do you think that Dragonborn accumulates (not just finds) too much gold in vanilla?

Add to that an option to tithe 10% of what you find/earn a month, or possibly make that tithe variable (higher or lower depending on your income/wealth). In fact, that tithe could be the source of possible in-game bonuses instead of Shrines. The more you tithe, the bigger the bonus up to whatever the cap for that bonus is.

I think a simple way to add some high end gold_sinks would be to add a small number of NPC's around skyrim who offer realistic Smithing and Enchanting services. It has always bothered me that if I want to play Master/ASIS/Deadly Dragons and so forth I really have to put skill points and perks into those two trees.

If you want a daedric sword to be legendary then it should take between a week and a month in game and cost 60,000 gold IMO. Its supposed to be legendary after all....

I agree that loot and gold are too available, maybe a simple mod that would lower the chance of obtaining so much would be the answer. It could very easily be done by changing the spawn chance in levelled items.

Hmm...I may just give that a go

I always end up with millions of dollars, way more than I need. I would love to have a mod that didn't simply make existing items more costly, but rather allowed me to use my money to improve Skyrim in a charitable way (sponsoring orphanages, rebuilding broken-down cities, adding parks or whatever) OR buying influence (paying to get the Jarls in your pocket, get Brynolf to stop having more important things to do than talk to you, lol, etc.)

Would be cool if you could put money towards your chosen factions and see some tangible results from that.

i.e. bankroll the Stormcloaks, Companions, Blades, etc and watch their armor/weapons improve (basically fine, exquisite, etc improvements - not change the base item).

I am level 65, bought every house and every upgrade, trained every level from 20ish onwards, didn't use the pickpocket after training trick, buy most crafting materials instead of collecting on the field. And I still end up with about 15k gold (Though looking back, most previous posters put me to shame xD). Most RPG games have this problem but unlike most Elder Scroll games I usually have to save money in the early-mid parts of the game before becoming stinking rich. In Skyrim I wasn't too rich but I never had to worry about saving gold at the beginning of the game. I think the problem is, as SFBryan18 said, there is simply too much loot in the world. Perhaps it would be better if Bethesada makes it so that gears cannot be picked up in corpses in future games, and drastically reduce the number of loots in "non-boss" containers. Or they can drastically reduce the encumbrance to a realistic level. Afterall, no man or woman can realistically carry 20 iron warhammers, dovahkiin or not!

Getting rid of the Speech impact on sale/purchase prices would be a start. In fact, thats exactly what I do with Community Uncapper - I make it so that Speech never levels through normal use (i.e. buying and selling items).

I'm an Orc warrior, I don't have time to haggle (relatively speaking) to get the best prices. If I need to buy something I buy it - and get on with killing stuff......

Also, with the possible exception of Thieves Guild quests, either seriously reduce or eliminate altogether monetary rewards for quests.

Think about it, I get 250 gold (more the higher level I get) for just walking into the Bannered Mare and giving Mikael a beatdown that takes all of what? 10 seconds?

Instead, make quests like these give you a discount on purchases from them in the future as the reward - I mean it's not like she should have 250 gold to throw around with a little one to take care of.

I have a Nord level 81, he have like 89.947 gold.

Like you, I've already all the armors and weapons that I need, all houses with all the decorations. But sometimes I have to buy food, because I use the mod Basic Needs, and my char needs food, water and a safe place to sleep,I have the mod that makes dangerous to sleep in the wilds, so I use Inns. And I need to buy healing and stamina potions, because my Warrior need to be prepared to battle. More gold is always better.

LOL... ....I know which mod your using....'wuss' for not sleeping outdoors, that's half the fun.... .... ...just teasing you....

As for the gold...yes, the Dragonborn does get too much....my Dragonborn doesn't even loot the big stuff, leaves all weapons and armour enchanted or not behind, all heavy items in fact and still ends up with gold coming out of his ears...he doesn't barter for better prices either....just the one point there so he can achieve persuade and intimidate.....less loot would be the better option....My dude does dabble heavily in Alchemy (no Enchanting) and ends up giving most of his unwanted potions away as created potion prices get too high.....I would also like to see an end to such large monetary rewards for small favours.
