urshi
Hello, I've edited body normal map in Photoshop, but I don't know which are the best settings to save it in dds format. I saved it with Nvidia dds plug-in like 8.8.8.8 ARGB|unsigned, but the dds file is huge. Could anyone advice me which setting are the best, so that normal map doesn't become pixelized and the size of the file is acceptable? TY.
Ghogiel
Well for a start you do not need an alpha channel so you should be saving it as 8:8:8 RGB. If you was to use uncompressed doing that will drop a full 8bit channels worth off the file size. Your other option in this case is DXT1. There isn't anything in between in BGS games or with object space normals, ie 3dc which doesn't work with either.
