Abandoned and unfinished mods

Would there be any way that Nexus could take mods that have obviously been abandoned by their authors in a broken an unfinished condition out of the regular lists and search filters and maybe put them in a category of their own somewhere in case the author comes back or someone wants to adopt them? A lot of authors have the courtesy to take down or hide those but a lot of authors don't and when you start adding money into the equation it would seem to be a tad sticky.

Referring ESPECIALLY those where the author's last act before hightailing it is to set up a Patreon account or other form of soliciting money for a product that is never going to be delivered. In the example I'm thinking of where such shenanigans were employed, literally the last act by the author before he/she disappeared from the planet well over two years ago, was to install a Patreon button and upload the image for Patreon. No way of knowing how many donated when it appeared the mod might still be active but one would be one too many.

It also seems to me that it would help users avoid those mods that aren't even "WIPs" anymore and still sitting there broken but available for download by the unwary.

Sometimes a MOD is done, even with bugs.

Oh btw, sometimes a whole game is launched full of bugs, cost $50+ and is never fixed... move on...

Till today ppl message my old email about some mods I did for Never Winter Nights Back in 2006.. yes, 13 years ago.. and most of them requesting me to update or fix... really!?

Anyway. What I am trying to say is that sometimes a mod is done on the concept of the author. Even with imperfections. I have here in Nexus Skyrim mods I have not touch or reply the boards for more than 5 years... are they abandoned? You bet they are not.

My 2 cents

You could tag them, with whatever seemed appropriate, and also leave comments to that effect. (careful there..... some authors get really touchy about calling their mod 'broken'.....

I see no tags which could be appropriate. I left comments in some mods, though.

And yes, there are some modders who get really butthurt and swing the banhammer if you so much as imply that their mod is less than absolutely perfect... Though if the mod really is abandoned, that doesn't matter. But there are those who - rumors say - not only refuse to fix bugs, but also make Nexus take down any unofficial bugfixes...
