we will also have to look at the number of dlc's which bethesda will release in future maybe 2 dlc's more or maybe three, also the size of the whole game currently the size is over 10 Gb so if we are looking for some new province we are talking about another 1 gb+ dlc. what i really want to see are 2 things in the future dlc's something related to dwemer people where the whole race went ?? we have heard so much about them disappearing right throughout the game maybe that can take us to a new province a new series of quests and adventure and Finally a WAR against THALMOR to free the skyrim from aldmeri dominion and restoring the worship of talos it may also take us to different province of tamriel but i think the WAR will be the final installment in skyrim dlcs if bethesda decides to make it

I just don't want something that you do the quest get a few new weapons and armor and that's it. That's what I like about say the hearthfire expansion it adds to the immersion of the game. Spears yes would be great to see how about go one step further though and yes tere are mods for this. Gun powder. Muskets flint locks how about boats that you can use with cannons and you can raid trade ships that arrive from other provinces. How about more to do with shaogorath or however you spell it that has to be one of my favorite quests.

The moment an Elder Scrolls game actually introduces guns as a primary feature is the moment I absolutely refuse to touch it. It's probably due to reading LotR in elementary school but to me gunpowder is the signal of the end of fantasy. I don't care how well it fits a realistic timeline, I don't want gunpowder in my fantasy.

...And I got distracted there.

Anyway, I'm with Janus. Give me a bustling city! Preferably without a Nord in sight hearing range. I never liked Nords (I have never played one in any game, and Skyrim is my sixth TES game), and I am so tired of them now. A nice city full of Mer and Imperials and Bretons. :P

(And re: anyone who thinks they'll add Dwemer, I can all but guarantee they won't. Morrowind would have been the place to do it, and they didn't there, if they did it here it would do lore a disservice.)

Whatever the next DLC for Skyrim involves, I can almost guarantee it won't be set in another province. Not completely guarantee, because hey, I'd like to be proven wrong, but yeah. Almost.

I like the idea of visiting Orsinium, but given its distance from Skyrim, I don't think that it's likely. A return to Solstheim is possible, but I doubt that anyone at Beth wants to recreate a region they've already worked on.

Orsinium is on the border of skyrim now...lots of things changed in two hundred years

I don't think the current technology (as in Bethesda's Gambryo mark II the creation engine), its even possible to have valenwood. Afterall the Cities are valenwood are giant walking threes.

still trying to figure that one out myself. but it would feel unique though. kind of like morrowind i think, the odd man out etc.

I was going to say something similar. I also feel like trains, and any type of airships start pushing it in the wrong direction.

It seems like most people want something off continent for a DLC and yet the first two have done the exact opposite.

I don't have a huge preference content wise except that I am entirely sick of Falmer and Dwemer related items. I might be persuaded to accept Dwemer related content if it's approached in a way that's different from what they've done so far with Skyrim, because the redundancy of the Dwemer ruins are getting old for me.

I'd like to approach the discussion from a different angle and point out some things they did in the previous two DLC's that I liked or didn't.

I don't like that the majority of Dawnguard takes place on continent with a total lack of any kind of back story. It doesn't make sense that geology should change to support an idea:

The Harkon family is supposed to have lived in that castle for centuries and yet it was not there, prior to Dawnguard. The same with Fort Dawnguard.

I like that Dawnguard touched on EVERY single aspect of the game from perks to smithing, to adding new areas, to the doomstones, etc. and you had a choice to play it more than one way.

I like that they added new monsters to Dawnguard, but I don't like the way they went about it.

The new Falmer head piece reminds me of the Snorks, and the Frost Giants look like a Frost Troll mated with a Giant.

The thing I liked most about Hearthfire in the limited time I've used it is that for the low price, it DOES add more realism to the game.

It expands on the orphanage idea and adds more to children in the game than just running around saying annoying things. Also, I've yet to play a new game with Hearthfire, but it seems to be a direct continuation of the start of the Dark Brotherhood questline since in my game at least, the paper I got from the courier mentioning I can adopt a kid points out that there is a new caretaker at the orphanage. I certainly can't imagine Grelod allowing me to adopt.

It also added several new npc's and followers as new housecarls. All in all it's not perfect, but not bad for $5

I also like that Hearthfire provides something that console players otherwise couldn't have (customized housing) and yet has so much potential for modders, allowing PC users to have something as well.

hmm i see a interesting question rising here.

What would you prefer a DLC that adds new places/worlds but has limited/none impact on the main game or a DLC that integrates itself into the main game expanding its possibilities but does not provide new places to explore?

I personally prefer the third "invisible" Option. No time wasted on DLCs but instead put into a new TES Game with a completely new Region....Summerset Isles is surely a lovely place to visit :).
