Monolithic0117
Banning AzirAphale for being woefully correct. In response to wasder's old reply of my previous post, that's another way to put it. It's why I said "if I wanted to be a snob".

Monolithic0117
Banning antonkr because the evidence is right in front of him: "witch'r", not witcher.
floggingmolly22
Banning Monolithic because antonkr was (while not spelling witcher correctly) not misspelling witcher either. He simply substituted an apostraphe in for the e. While not conventional, and not (in this case) convienent or nesecary, (he did not shorten it, or remove a character, he, in essence, substitued a character) it is not quite improper. Monolithic0117
Banning floggingmolly because witcher is a noun that must be spelled W-I-T-C-H-E-R. Substituting apostrophes for e's will simply not do.
floggingmolly22
Banning Monolithic because while it is not proper, nor is it entirely correct or even time-saving, it can be done. As evidenced by the fact that antonkr successfully performed the action. And, if you were using "witcher" as part of a poem in which syllable count is required (haiku, limerick, other form) the apostrophe can be employed to shorten a word by a syllable. In the case of "witcher", it would be divided as witch-er, where with the apostrophe, witch'r would be counted as one syllable.
