ThunderingModster
Hey there, I usually don't use body mods etc, but suddenly I can't bear the default NPC faces and hair and was wondering if anyone could help me with them, I have absolutely no idea how they work nor which ones I should use.(I do not want 'modern' hair tho). I heard things about CBBE,Better Males and ApachiiSkyHair but don't know how they work.
IsharaMeradin
Without getting into one mod vs another mod debate... pick a body mod and install it according to instructions. then pick a face mod and install it according to instructions, check first to ensure that the face mod has a version which matches the chosen body mod. then pick a hair mod and install it according to instructions. Why in this order? Some face mods include certain body maps that either need to be replaced for a better neck seam match or those body maps weren't included to begin with. The hair can be installed at any point. I just prefer to 'top it off' with the hair :P My personal preferences:UNP Main -- body modAll In One Face -- face modApachii Sky Hair -- hair mod There is this mod which makes the installation process for the UNP body mods a little easier by offering things to you in a menu interface and save you the hassle of installing manually or one at a time in the right order via NMM. UNP Replacer Configuration Package It also includes some face mods that should be fairly seamless too. IsharaMeradin
original UNP mod NSFW (not safe for work) as it shows nude parts You have to get your males in a separate mod. What those are, I'm not sure. I'm happy with the stock body for the males.
LargeStyle
If you want a hair mod that improves the original look, but don't want fancy modern look then I'd heavily recommend: AOF Believable Hair -Female and Male- For faces. there is a popular mod which simply resolves a texture issue, particularly with nose-smoothness: No More Blocky Faces There are mods that offer complete overhauls for facial features, such as Coverwomen (which probably isn't too lore friendly), Better Females by Bella (which has lore friendly and less-lore friendly versions), and XCE - Xenius Character Enhancement I've tried quite a few facial mods, but I also want people to look "realistic" and not from a fashion magazine, so I now use: Women of Skyrim-Enhanced female normalmaps, XCE - Brows, and Improved Eyes Skyrim, along with "No More Block Faces". I'm not saying that this is the best mod combination, but it's where I've ended up. I haven't modded men really, but yes there are mods that change their body type, texture, beard improvements etc. Here's a pic with standard Bethesda face, and with my currently used face mods: http://imageshack.us/a/img259/7383/facemods.jpg
