Oblivion Mods in Fallout 3?

I'd love to know why these things have to be Bethesda gaining inspiration from the modding community. I'm not saying it couldn't happen, of course, but who says they didn't have the same strikes of brilliance that hit the modders and come up with the changes independently?

Of course, some have already pointed out that V.A.T.S. and Dogmeat are both inspired (and in the later case, directly the result of) the original Fallout games.

possibly true but it seems as if once we get a cs there will probably be proof that the scripts used for companions, crafting, the gore, and probably some animations were just remade scripts of the modding community which in turn just sampled beth vanilla scripts mixing em up....

I'm sure Deadly Reflexes is a great mod, but it seems to be getting a lot of credit it does not deserve. Scripts & animations on a specific game engine are one thing, but some people are giving the impression that they believe DR invented a few things that have in fact been around for years.

Fragging someone into bloody chunks of meat is called "gibbing" and has been around since Doom, although it was done much better in Red Faction 2, an RTS on the PS2. Stealth/silent/sandman/sneak kills have been in just about every ninja-style game ever made, but the most well-known game may be Metal Gear on the PlayStation.

Kudos to the DR people for recreating the content on Bethesda's engine, but this is stuff that's been around years before Oblivion was even an idea in some game designers notebook.
