Texture and LOD Problems

Hello, I am doing a super modded playthrough right now and I am having trouble with textures being replaced and LOD bugging out. Sometimes things will appear right in front of me cause they were not loaded.

This is not all the mods, but I cannot upload the ammount of screenshots needed from my vortex application, just some tips might help, I think I for sure have over 200 mods.

You have too many plugins, get the number down to under 138 or lower if possible, you can merge some to get the number down, those that you decide to disable should also have the esp/esm removed from the data folder.

Like I said, my game wa a perfectly stable with over 160ish mods, I think I messed up my load order or I got a unstable mod. Going to check it over later.

Consider yourself extremely lucky. But it appears that your luck has run out. The game engine cannot handle over 140 mods and that is with luck on your side.

Everyone who tries to keep pushing the number of mods they install eventually hits a limit specific to their system and mix. We see consistent problems when people add one more mod somewhere between the 128 and 140 "plugin cap" with FNV. (And that "cap" includes every ESM/ESP file in the data folder: "active" or not. Move inactive files out of "Data".) I've seen the occasional report by someone that they have exceeded 140, but everyone eventually hits a limit. When that happens, the only thing you can do is reduce the number of "plugins" in "Data" until you get back the number that works for your system. EVERYTHING (including text and LOD files which do not have ESP/ESM file) consumes resources. Your symptoms are what we see when people have exceeded the "plugin cap", so that coupled with your stated number of mods is why getting that count down is the first step.

Eventually, if you can't get down to roughly 128 by moving inactives out, try to prioritize and uninstall (on a temporary "test" basis) the less important plugins until you do so. If that does resolve your problems, then see the wiki "Merged Plugin Guidelines for Personal Use" article on how to merge plugins (which is not the same as a "merge patch" file) to get your active count down while still keeping the mods.

Once you get down to the number of mods your system can handle, if you are still having problems we REALLY need to see a "load order" as produced by "LOOT"; to include the main game and DLC files. (Screenshots don't work so well for the purpose.) With modded games its the sequence, not merely the list of mods, which is the cause of many problems. LOOT's sort gives a good first approximation, correcting the most obvious issues and is sufficient for most players. You can make minor adjustments to the order and tell LOOT how to remember them. It's in the on-line documentation under "Metadata". Instructions on how to copy it's list for posting are in the "How to ask for help" article, and "Checklist Item #11' entry in the wiki "Fallout NV Mod Conflict Troubleshooting" guide.

Your "load order" has an impact on your VWD/LOD "quads". If you add (or remove) any VWD/LOD textures (such as NMC, Vurt's WFO, or Ojo Bueno), please see the 'Checklist Item #15 & 16' entries in the wiki "Fallout NV Mod Conflict Troubleshooting" guide regarding the need to run both TES4LL and FNVLODGen; or xLODGen - Terrain LOD beta for FNV, FO3, FO4, FO4VR, TES5, SSE, TES5VR, ENDERAL. Also recommend you read the 'LOD/VWD Texture Packs' section of the wiki "FNV General Mod Use Advice" article first.

For other, more general texture problems, please see the 'Solutions to Mesh (Red "!" icon) or Texture (solid color) problems' section of the wiki "Fallout NV Mod Conflict Troubleshooting" article.
