Faust870
How do you actually become somewhat decent when going unarmored? When people attack me with a half decent weapon, it takes my health down at least by half... and knocks me down... Is it at all possible to be good and unarmored? Dijas
It is possible to be good, but not that good. You'll have to wear armor if want to have decent protection. The best in unarmored skill is not to wear any weight nor to repair armor.
Slaiv
I imagine you would have to be a pretty high level, and have a high unarmoured skill to be able to fight anything without receiving rather large amounts of damage.
Camonna
yeah becasue well, you dont have any armour on and its only good for wimpy thieves or mages that use unarmoured because of weight! Light armour (well some of it) is almost weightless
Faust870
Well I'm trying to take a different role in this game,... My friend and I have both made Mages... and actually taking the role of a wizard, no armour... just clothes, and a cloak... But i find it almost impossible to kill a few of the baddies in dwemer dungeons (Orcs and such, not the spiders and such)... And i really dont want to wear armour... Though i supposed sometime in the future of this character i could build him out like the Fyr guy with all Daedric armour :P

Breton Thief Oriana
Well, actually, you arent really decent going unarmored. Unless you have natural skill.
Eiade
i am a lover of unarmored (although i agree it does kinda suck in this game). with a maxed out unarmored skill and maxed out speed (governing attribute), the highest armor rating you can get is 65. HOWEVER... there is an excellent mod to solve this problem. its called "the dodging mod" by a guy named Horatio. as someone who excels in unarmored, you are nimble and fast. although you are not sufficiently protected, you should be able to avoid and dodge blows very well. this mod adds a sanctuary spell with a magnitude that depends on you unarmored skill. the spell only happens if your unarmored skill is at least twice as high as any of your other armor skills (heavy, medium, light), so that you cant walk around in daedric reaping the insane sancuary bonus. i believe it is a balanced mod. it's on TheLys's morrowind page. here's an html: Dodging Mod
thanateros
Being unarmored, in my experience, had only worked when I would use spells like sanctuary and chameleon along with sneak and a really high agility score to be virtually unhittable. That took a while to build up but once you do there are very few NPC's that can successfully nail someone with an 80 point sanctuary and 80 point chameleon with 120 agility and 100 sneak. So if you're a mage, illusion is essential to succeeding with being unarmored.
mcstreet
i use unarmored coz its great you can carry loads of extra stuff but if you are havomg probs do what i did...either make a spell with bound cuirass, boots, helm and gloves wen you need it so that you haveno weight light armor...or get a pair of exquisite pants and enchant them with bound helm, boots and cuirass constant effect..its quite cheap too and you can actually fix damaged bound armor...at the same time each bound spell has yet another constant effect depending on which spells you used..good luck
