Crashes any time i go near white run

i'm fairly new to playing with most of skyrims modding, most of the modding ive done before was entirely through vortex and NMM FONV, and most of that was damn near plug and play before now.

Any time i try to approach white run, my game crashes, with out fail. i think it's a load order issue as i have had almot every mod in my load order working on it's own, and i've tried using loot and TES5Edit to clean and sort my load order but it is still crashing, could i get some help/advice?

 

Running on a computer with 16gb raam, over a terabyte of free space on the C Drive, a gtx 2070 graphics card, with a I7-8700 cpu

I would suspect JKs Open Cities which is notorious for not playing well with other mods that make any changes to Cities or Villages. From what I understand it is a great mod but takes some work to play with. A good understanding of xEdit would definitely help.

i definitely have a very poor understanding of xedit and all of the videos i've looked up on it went over my head or were too old to be used with the current versions

actually, may have found the issue. I don't have patches between many of the mods and USLEEP because i didnt know USLEEP stood for Universal Skyrim Legendary Edition Patch........ imma try going through my mods once they finish redownloading and making sure i have every USLEEP patch i might need

USLEEP patches was not the issue (unless i missed some) still crashes anytime i go near Whiterun. i can get these major offending mods (Noble skyrim, skyrim 2019, JK's skyrim, open cities, and SIMMS) to work in virtually every pair, so i am fairly certain it's a load order issue

update, i said screw it, fully uninstalled skyrim, reinstalled with a much smaller load list cutting a good half of what i was doing out and am running with that, it is running fine. (Got the inportant bits, lock on/ 3rdper overhaul, companions, familiar faces, open cities, and not much more than those)

Glad to hear you got your game running smoothly. When it comes to mods more is not necessarily better.

 

You might use that profile as a template for adding mods you are interested in a few at a time and playing with them for a time to make sure there are no conflicts. Although remember to start a new game when adding mods; adding mods mid game almost always leads to problems at once or down the road. You should never do it unless the mod author specifically says it is OK on their mod page.

 

If you want to get into serious modding I would suggest you check out Tome of xEdit and learn how to use xEdit to find and resolve conflicts, also I would check out the pinned topics at the top of the Steam forum pages for Legendary and SE Skyrim, a must for anyone who mods their game, beginner or experienced in my opinion.

thanks for the advice. i actually figured out how to get ENB's set up and working, and i now have a massive mod list once again. even if you are just using the boost function of ENB, it massively improves how much visual stuff you can have. (basically boosts the available RAM for the game.) i discovered that was the source of my game crashing.
