Fallout 3 Cheat Codes

To use cheat codes, you need to access the console. The default console key is tilde (~). Once you are in console mode, you can type the commands below and press ENTER. The quantity can usually be set to whatever you want. I use 100 as an example.

 

Cheat: Adds 100 bottle caps (money) to your inventory.

Code: player.additem 0000000f 100

 

Cheat: Adds 100 Stimpaks to your inventory.

Code: player.additem 00015166 100

 

Cheat: Enable / Disable God mode.

Code: tgm

 

Cheat: Enable / Disable no clipping (go through walls / fly)

Code: tcl

 

Cheat: Toggle menu / HUD. Mainly used for clean screenshots.

Code: tm

 

Cheat: Toggle free camera to move your camera around. Mainly used for positioning view for screenshots.

Code: tfc

 

Cheat: Unlock the selected item. Be sure to click on the door / gate / box before typing the command.

Code: unlock

 

Cheat: Immediately kill the selected enemy. Be sure to click on the enemy before typing the command.

Code: kill

 

Cheat: Configure Dogmeat (your dog companion) to be essential (not allowed to die).

Code: setessential 6a772 1

 

Cheat: Change your character's name.

Code: ShowNameMenu

 

Cheat: Change your character's gender.

Code: SexChange

 

Cheat: Display the Character Creation screen.

Code: showracemenu

 

Cheat: Bring a character/animal back to life. Be sure to click on the person/animal before typing the command.

Code: resurrect

 

Cheat: Allow your character to use Power Armor without training for it.

Code: SetPCCanUsePowerArmor 1

 

Cheat: Adamantium Skeleton perk. (Take less damage)

Code: Player.AddPerk 00094EC4

 

Cheat: Animal Friend perk. (Level 1 - Animals will not attack you, Level 2 - Animals help you fight)

Cheat: Better Criticals perk. (Increased damage during critical hit)

Cheat: Commando perk. (Increased accuracy with 2-handed weapons in VATS)

Cheat: Comprehension perk. (Best used before reading any skill books to give +2 skills)

Cheat: Educated perk. (Best when used early in the game - +3 skills each level)

Cheat: Finesse perk. (Better chance to score critical hit)

Cheat: Gun Nut perk. (Increase Small Guns and Repair - Multiple levels)

Cheat: Mister Sandman perk. (Sneak and kill people in their sleep)

Cheat: Mysterious Stranger perk. (Get occasional help while in VATS)

Cheat: Sniper perk. (Chance for Headshots increased)

Thanks...yes, that is where I prematurely stopped writing the article. When I looked at the clock, I should have left 30 minutes ago and simply bolted rather than do anything else with the article (which still will have a few more things added...although I do not intend on it being an exhaustive list, just some of the more useful things)

Hmmm... Interesting...

 

The cheats for FO3 are basically the same as the one's for Oblivion... Probably because it's the same engine. :yes:

 

*Mutters under breath* "'New game engine'... yeah right..."

Once I get back to this, I will also include links to more exhaustive listings if more is desired. I just want to keep this fairly short to the most commonly used ones (especially for screenshooting)

Thanks for posting this. I've found some of the downloadable cheat documents a little hard to deal with (They need Java or use Microsoft Excell, etc.)

 

By the way, what's the deal with the cheat "tdt"? It worked in Oblivion, and is recognized in Fallout, though it doesn't run.
