There may be multiplayer, sorry. Check it out here.

What? That link talks nothing about multiplayer. Also, as stated, it is impossible.

Hey, welcome to the forums. ^_^ I'm not going to tell you to follow the rules like the others say [but you most definitely should]; instead, I'll just say stuff about the actual forums:

These are by far the most welcoming, friendly forums I've ever used. The people here are happy to answer your questions [as long as it's not been asked countless times already]. This is the longest I've ever stayed on any forums, period. There are interesting topics, and help if you need it for MW and the CS.

One thing - if you do ask something that has been asked before, and you get somewhat of a harsh reply from one of the moderators, don't worry, just make sure you don't do it again.

Welcome.! :P

I'm not sure, we haven't been able to have other players connect and actually enter the game yet. There are many kinks we still need to work through in the assigning of player IDs. Basically, when each player connects via TCP/IP, the wrapper needs to assign a newly created player ID to their address, otherwise they will just be connected to the other person without actually being recognizable within the scripts of the Master file. Once we have a working beta going where we can connect and actually play, I suppose we'll be able to examine the strain in the sending of the needed data packets and work out a reasonable limit. I don't think they were planning on having more than 4, though, as so far the largest game type suggested has been 4 player team games (2 on 2)

This if from my link, SEE?!!?!?!?! It does talk about multiplayer. They seem pretty confident, it is possible, anything is. A programmer can do anything. Morrowind is a program not a indestructible enity protected by a sacred anti-multiplayer force.

HA HA HA HA HA admit it it is possible, admit the possiblitie, wow i can't spell,... looks bad for the newbie.

Those people are idiots, it's that simple. Either they have no idea what they're talking about, or they're lying to get attention. For the (apparently) 10 billionth time, MULTIPLAYER MORROWIND IS NOT POSSIBLE. To add multiplayer ability to Morrowind would require completely rewriting the game engine. Which is completely illegal, even if it is somehow possible.

Yes, programmers can do almost anything. But not when they don't have access to the source code, and they have a threat of lawsuit if they modify the wrong things.

Multiplayer Morrowind is never going to happen, and anyone who claims otherwise is a liar or an idiot (if not both). End of discussion.

If I might -

The will be no multiplayer for TES III - but that could be something they add for TES IV - some several years in the future.

Much of what you see on various forums has to be taken with a grain of salt if it sounds too good to be true.

Just as the Tolkien estate keeps an eye out on what attaches the name "Middle Earth" to itself, so do the game companies keep an eye on their products as well. If someone were to crack the game and change the base code, that would be a serious copywrite infringement and I wouldn't want to be the one who boasted about doing it on the forums just to get others to think more of them.

What the site is about is not seeing how we can do illegal things to get what we want - it's for how far we can push the existing product within the rules set by the TESCS to create scenarios for an existing game, or taking the game engine and producing new lands and features as allowed by law. That is one reason why any discussion of illegal activity (downloading/distributing non-freeware, stealing intellectual assets, etc) is quickly squelched on this board.

That said, welcome to the forums, where honest debate is always accepted, and spamming is always dealt with harshly.

Nothing is impossible... Morrowind could be multiplayer... Bethesda would just have to change a few things, recode some stuff... etc... but it COULD be multiplayer, but i doubt it ever will be

It's not illegal if bethesda did multiplayer and not impossible. I know they said they wouldn't do it for a very good reason of witch I've never heard but am always reminded of  I understand not wanting to make it massive multiplayer, but at least some two or three player coop would be nice.
