opperheim
Hi, I've been having this problem for about a week, and tried all the tweaks from several different posts, reinstalled the game (even reinstalled Windows), reinstalled texture mods, run with no mods, updated drivers, tried enb forcememory, and absolutely nothing will work. Tried with vanilla textures, as well as the 1K performance textures of a few texture overhauls, and the problem persists, with just less GPU usage. Hopefully someone has a solution because I'm kinda at the end of my tether with this game. Thanks in advance! https://imgur.com/a/HaXy2uT Some examples. G4M3W1NN3R
open fallout4prefs.ini - search for iTexMipMapSkip= and change that to 0 iTexMipMapSkip=0 <-- Ultra Settings iTexMipMapSkip=-1 <-- supposedly fixes it if this setting does not exist then add it into the [display] category [Display]iTexMipMapSkip=0 try both 0 and -1 Values, until it works. the ultra low resolution textures is in direct relation to the MipMapSkip Setting, if your issue is indeed related to the LOD Bug, that has existed ever since Fallout 4 Release, typically noticed when going to the quarry site, where all the quarry stone is completely low res, whilst everything else is in high res. as for enb: [MEMORY]ForceVideoMemorySize=trueVideoMemorySizeMb=4096 VideoMemorySizeMb=4096 and iTexMipMapSkip=0 works perfectly for me, recommend using both settings, to see if it resolves the issue for you. or try VideoMemorySizeMb=4096 and iTexMipMapSkip=-1 Note: VideoMemorySizeMb must use Valid Values, that is multiples of 64, if the value is wrong, the bug will not be fixed. Valid Values: 512, 1024, 2048, 4096, 8192 etc etc
opperheim
Tried that, to no avail unfortunately. Doesn't seem to do anything on my end.
G4M3W1NN3R
can you list your mods, so i can see if their is any issues.
opperheim
It also happens with some weapon mods when you ADS and the sights are quite close. I don't currently have any mods installed - as I was trying to figure out if it was a mod causing it. I've tried it with the Best Performance version of Vivid Fallout - All in One as well though. Same issue there. It's not an issue of not having enough VRAM either, because my game is only using ~50% and not rendering the higher quality textures at all. G4M3W1NN3R
1: Delete all of your Fallout 4 Ini Files (Fallout4.ini, Fallout4Prefs.ini, and lastly Fallout4Custom.ini if applicable), located here by default: C:\Users\Your Computer Name\Documents\My Games\Fallout4 2: then Run the Fallout 4 Launcher, click on your desired Graphic Settings. then do all of the above what i wrote in my primary reply, with regards to mipmap setting, and enb settings. both of them. and see if the problem persists. 3: if the above makes no difference then: try this mod: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/4598 Linked mod = Fallout 4 Unofficial Patch, this mod fixes a lot of issues, the issue you are experiencing could very well be 1 of them. 4: Open Control Panel - System - Advanced System Settings - Performance Settings - Tick High Performance Mode 5: Right Click on Desktop - Open Nvidia Control Panel (if using Nvidia Cards) - Manage 3D Settings - Power Management Mode (Choose: Prefer Maximum Performance) 5a: also Create a Profile for Fallout 4 - and do the same again: Power Management Mode (Choose: Prefer Maximum Performance) Note: if you have an AMD card you will need to find the relevant power management mode. if all the above still makes no difference then continue reading, and reply with relevant information Continued Since this issue is not mod related, or Installation Related, then it has to be Hardware Related. so with that in mind, we will need to look at your hardware you might have Issues with Your Harddrive (the 1 that Fallout 4 is installed on) or you might have issues With Your Graphics Card itself or CPU or even System Memory what is your system specs ? and How old is your System ? also Is Your GPU, Processor and System Memory Overclocked ? and lastly can you take a screenshot of your GPU, CPU and Memory Usage as well as Temperatures for both CPU and GPU
opperheim
Yep, tried all that and still not working. This all started when I reset my PC to put my FO4 installation on my SSD. I've since put it back on my HD to see if it fixes the issue, but no. Specs are: i5 6600kGTX 1050ti 4gb16GB DDR4 Whole thing's about 2 and a half years old I think. Can't be 100% as I bought it from my brother a while back. Nothing overclocked (or has ever been to my knowledge). Which software should I use to get some statistics on usage? opperheim
Just to add - I'm using the same modlist I was before I uninstalled (and the issue started). But as it happens with vanilla textures, it's independent of mods altogether.
StormWolf01
This might be a wild hare idea, but it sounds like you've already tried a whole lot of the usual suspects.Do a web search for how to test video cardand then run it through the gambit. Before doing that, check the manufactures website to insure your vid drivers are up to date. opperheim
Oh mate I'm open to any and all left field ideas at this point. I've downloaded the latest drivers and checked my GPU health via Afterburner. Even took my card out and cleared the small amount of dust from it, and it's still rendering low res textures. I know it'll just be some small ini tweak I'd made in the past that fixed it for me, but I can't for the life of me figure out what it could be.
