More Towns, more quests in Capital Wasteland

After playing NewVegas, I have to say that I lik Vegas beter. A big reason for that is that Vegas feels rambuncous and populated, FO3 feels empty. And for the most part that's a WOD. However, it does seem to me that the areas north and wst of Arefu shoulsn't be so devoid of civilized life. There's a new Paradise Falls post slavers mod I want to try when I get back to FO3. basically, I want more setlements. Post War ramshakles towns, bigger than Gidershade (and Girdershade mod would be great!) with farms and settlement walls and such. Not so much of a New Vegas rebuilding feel, but more of a Humanity is hanging on and it'sn't completely losing the battle kind of thing.

Are there such mods? Cause I'd love to play in a Capital Wasteland with more settlements and towns.

weird i had the complete opposite effect

but a couple mods i would suggest

bos dc patrols (make you think bos is cleaning the ruins)

Rts- real time settler(make you a settlement anywhere)

Arefu Expanded

I'm working on a new town with a few quests but to be honest, I'll never finish it. Let's see what we can find for projects that have been completed:

Bridge Town - full of Raiders

Canterbury Commons Overhaul

The abovementioned Arefu Expanded is a good quest mod.

Big Town Overhaul or Bonds Big Town

Shameless self promotion- Billboard Camps - no quests but there's a place to rest your head and a scavenger to trade with.

TecVault adds a huge vault player home with residents inside and a quest to get it

Wasteland Travellers and Crowded Cities both add more people to the wastes.

I have an idea, although I am trying to clear it with staff. There's a Fallout 3 DLC conversion pack that doesn't have meshes but uses stuff from Fallout 3 DLC in New Vegas. What about us, or just me, doing the reverse? That way we can create farmstead communities, maybe refugees (I assumed that the Wasteland used to be far more populated, but the supermutants coming out of 87 in full force extinguished any tribal and the farming communities became refugees, mostly going north and west instead of down to Megaton and Rivet City.) In other words, there used to be a lot of communities like Girdershade, and Girdershade used to be a lot bigger but they dried up because raiders got desperate and supermutants make it almost impossible to make a decent living in the last decade and a half. In other words, the Wasteland got worse on at least one level of magnitude since James went into Vault 101. And if we could port sources from Vegas with the mesh stipulation, at least those of us with New Vegas could see pick up trucks, corn farms, etc, etc. What I especially would like is some kind of settlement, even if prewar and abandoned, that justifies the rail tunnel that leads to Pittsburgh.

Any thoughts?

I have several ideas. With the TSC mods to the DLC, it is a perfect link to NV and the Commonwealth. Perhaps Bethesda can team up the Courier, the Lone Wanderer/Commander and the new guy in FO4. It will mean a new game, but this one would be awe inspiring. It will require the MZ crew mod and perhaps they can discover some fuel and actually fly the ship. Even if its only 500 miles it can be in transporter range of Las Vegas, DC, Boston and Pittsburgh where all the action has been. There's Irons' BoS group that will have to be dealt with. Will the Crimson Rose be a villain and can Smith deal with her machinations? There is the opportunity for new and old companions, and joint quests.

Perhaps Bethesda can make it possible to move from one principal to another. What if the Commander teams up with Mr. House/Howard Hughes. Hughes told of his dream of going to the stars in NV and now there is a ship to make it possible saving a century of development. Use the Olympus' robot factory and make some of Hughes/House robots with the new weaponry. House can even be made a member of the council. Modify the Council Chamber so his avatar robot can have a seat. Dr Li and the others in the Institute in Boston can be part of a new TSC Research facility. With the funds infused by House, it and a newly expanded Erebus can be made the new super research facilities.

The Supermutants can finally be dealt with. If Vault 87 has the cloning facility, when and if ever Nylus can get the damn Death Ray fixed, Vault 87 can be obliterated ending the threat once and for all. Separate quests can deal with the letter the Lone Wanderer found near the bridge in the grave that someone long ago wrote that when the author in hiding observed the Mutants actions, he was sure their digging and constructs were done to find something. All the trenches in the Mall were made to find that Something. One quest could settle that question. Make it disturbing and probable Bethesda. Another related quest would be to evacuate Little Lamplight, because the children will be incinerated by the Death Ray blast that will fill Little Lamplight with exterminating flame through the connecting tunnels. Perhaps Bethesda can have the Institute and Erebus test and then educate the little tykes/brats and get them in a proper school. The dogs can be moved to the Mansion so all the outside babes can have two or three protector dogs apiece.

I know that MZC and other quests are not Bethesda's property, but perhaps a small payment might entice them to sign the rights over to Bethesda. Several others as well as the Mansion and several others might be updated to the new CGI standard by their impressive designer/programmers also if the editing tools can be upgraded by Bethesda in collaboration with Nexus Mods. Fellout, TechVault (that can also be made a new TSC super aviation research facility along with full pool rights) can also be made using the new CGI developments for Bethesda. New villains like Colonel Autumn's son can be introduced and a new target for the Lone Wanderer and his band of dangerous companions to face. I can see that son kidnapping Lucy West and Sydney two of the Lone Wanderer's wives to extort the Commander to give him one of the TSC's new battle ships. That would be an epic DLC for FO5.

All of this redone in the stunning new CGI standard like FO4 has. We are talking about a massive new game that isn't a redux of the old, but a new melding of the old for future adventures for all three games in a wonderful new FO5. Imagine new international intrigues with Stockholm, Moscow and perhaps a few new communities like London and Paris for a whole lot of new DLCs, quests, alliances and enemies. The Crimson Rose in all them with Smith on her tail and a running backstory of the espionage front. Foremost it will remain a FPS with a lot more nuance and potential new targets to eliminate. The storyboard writers at Bethesda need a less than gentle kick in the butt after their pathetic one dimensional ending to FO4.

This new melded world of FO5 can easily expand to FO6 to include India, parts of China, maybe Hawaii and Africa with all kinds of new mutants. Then with an expanded TSC on the Moon and Mars and new ships we have made with improvements from the aliens' tech along with ours, we can face a new assault by a small alien fleet in search for their heretics. Its all there for fantastic new games.
