StormWolf01
Hey, sorry for the double post, but I was just adding some mods to my test rig, and I came across some instructions for the other ini edits needed for using textures, so since they hadn't been discussed, I thought I would post them here.Keep in mind, this is a direct CnP from the readme file that came with the mod, I've got a broken left hand, so I'm being too lazy to type it all out, LOL. Go to the "Documents\My Games\Fallout4" folder and open "Fallout4.ini".Find: sResourceDataDirsFinal=STRINGS\and change to: sResourceDataDirsFinal=STRINGS\, TEXTURES\In the same folder, open the "Fallout4Prefs.ini" file.Navigate to the very bottom and you should see the line [Launcher]. Directly underneath this, copy the following text:bEnableFileSelection=1If the option [Launcher] doesn't exist, then create it.If you are using Steam, your "Fallout4.ini" and "Fallout4Prefs.ini" should be located under "Steam/steamapps/common/Fallout 4/" as well.Do the same updates to those files also. G4M3W1NN3R
Yeah, so the Documents folder in "C:\Users\My Computer Name\Documents\My Games\Fallout4" doesn't contain anything. The My Games folder and everything else are just sitting in "This PC\Documents". I wouldn't think that's the issue though since I've never had trouble with New Vegas or Skyrim SE. I tried using the archive invalidation thing in only the Fallout4Custom.ini, and then only in the MO Custom.ini, and then both together and none of it helped the texture mods work. so i am going to assume then that you are either using Windows 10 or Linux ? (relevant question, because both windows 10 and Linux can very well be an issue in itself.) Since Windows 10 and i believe linux both Rename My Computer to This PC (Note: i rarely use linux, so i am not entirely sure, as i only use it for, Hardware Testing and Problem Solving, since it is vastly superior with regards to them tasks.) My Computer = Windows 7 and older. What Partition is Windows installed to technically it should be an issue, since every single program has it settings in that very location i mentioned, especially games. which s used for save games, game settings, and other settings for programs. because it is not in the proper location, that means the game itself is most likely not installed in the default location either, which would be: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout
LordPhoenix82nd
Oh yeah, all my saves are there and the inis as well. I'll try and copy it over to the directory he mentioned it should be at and run it. Not quite sure how that happened or if it affects the texture mods yet And yes, I'm using Windows 10 Pro and I have everything on the same C: drive. LordPhoenix82nd
What gets me the most is that the mod "Pre-War Retextures" works fine, but mods like "FlaconOil's HD Retexture Project" and the Vivid mods don't apply in game. However, all those mods are loose files and have the same file structure

G4M3W1NN3R
did you try moving the fallout 4 ini files to users/documents folder ? unless that might just be a windows 10 thing to have the documents in the place you mentioned. also try the Ba2 Archives of said mods. to see if they work. it could just be a loose texture issue. if the Ba2 Archives work, then this will be an issue with Mod Organizer itself failing to load Loose Files. LordPhoenix82nd
Yeah, I tried moving the inis to there, but it just keeps creating the ones in This PC\Documents. The inis are having an effect on the game anyway so there's no reason that bInvalidateOlderFiles shouldn't work if the other stuff works so that's probably not the issue. I know it's probably not MO since I tried installing all the textures manually and Fallout 4 still didn't load them. I could try packing some into Ba2 archives and see what happens Edited November 2, 2019 by LordPhoenix82nd
G4M3W1NN3R
both mentioned mods already include ba2 archives for download, recommend downloading the ba2 versions of the mod instead of packing them yourself, as to eliminate any potential issue caused by user error. that, and i know for a fact the Ba2 Archive version of FlaconOil Mod definitely works as i run them myself and have done for a long time.
