Wylyth1992
This Fallout mod idea will take place in the Rappahannock area of Virginia, located in the "7" part of this map. It would take place in the year 2176 and be more side quest based, there will be no "main quest". Just exploring the Rappahannock Wasteland, helping or hindering those you find on your way. No existential threats, just the everyday life of the wasteland. The closest thing to a main quest is the mission give to you by the Overseer of your Vault, Vault 91 (located in Fredericksburg, Virginia), which is simply to explore the Rappahannock Wasteland. You are a member of the Wasteland Scouting Team, and your mission is to explore and collect data on the wasteland. Armed with a Pip Boy 3000 and a 10mm Pistol, you head out into the world......Gameplay features will include reworked perks, a radiation system that only reduces your max health at thresholds (when you reach 200 rads, your max health will drop 20%), returning Fallout 3 weapons like the R91 Assault Rifle, and more. The idea of this mod is to combine a story and gameplay similar to Fallout New Vegas with the more post apocalyptic explorable area seen in Fallout 3. BlazeStryker
Very interesting. Being 2176, this would put you 89 years after the War, 111 years before the events of Fallout 4. Until the midsummer of this year, I lived in the Roanoke region of Roanoke County. I can say with authority that terrain and regional climate are all over the place in Virginia and the Confederate Wasteland will have many a challenge. As many times as the Stars'n'Bars and other Rebellion holdovers flared up in Virginia I can't say there won't be a Neo-confederate faction, for certain. That said, tobacco, '50s cultural flavors such as pre-Code comics and fairly sharpish class divides are very possible.

Also, this takes place in the Rappahannock area (in the 7 area of the map), and is called the Rappahannock Wasteland. Also the title of the mod is called such because it starts in the summer of 2176, the would be 400th anniversary of the United States. From what I have seen in Fallout history, the time before the war removed many racist, homophobic, and sexist prejudices in most people. As long as you were not a "dirty commie", of course. Wylyth1992
I hope more people give their opinions on this mod idea. The idea behind it was to combine the gameplay and story similar to New Vegas with a setting similar to Fallout 3. I even have a concept of the intro:*A radio turns on, plays "America The Beautiful", while the camera pans out of a Wattz Consumer Electronics store. You see other stores, revealing the place is a ruined shopping center, and see wastelanders walking around it, revealing it has become a major hub, and then you see a big blue sign saying "The Park", with "The" covering up the word "Vault", and then hear the iconic words: "War....war never changes"*Vault Park, btw, is based off Central Park Shopping Center in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Wylyth1992
One of the end game areas will be "Anna's Blight", formerly known as Louisa County, Virginia. It is a heavily radioactive area, made from a nuclear meltdown of the North Anna Nuclear Power Station. The closer you get to the ruins of the power plant, the more radiation damage you will take. You will NOT be able to reach the power plant before dying of radiation poisoning.

Wylyth1992
It will also have elements of Southern Gothic, especially around areas controlled by The Ascension (who symbol is a Virginia Confederate Battle Flag but instead of a blue cross and white stars and border, its a white cross with black stars and border) like Old Salem Church, a far right Raider gang that has.....older prejudices (read: they're racist as f***). They originally came from Vault 89, whose experiment was to put a bunch of racist f***s in one place, and constantly reaffirm their racist beliefs. Why did Vault Tec do this? Because they could!
