oblivionfan52
Question on the new options for starting tools in Vortex 1.1.0. there is an option to close Vortex on game start that seems to work fine, but there is also an option to hide Vortex on game start. Is this hide option meant to hide Vortex to the system tray? If so it is not working for me. I'm wondering if the hide option works for anyone else. When I enable the hide option and start my game (Skyrimse) Vortex flashes but does not hide, am I missing something or do I have a bug I need to report? Pickysaurus
It should hide the main Vortex window, which can be revealed by clicking the tray icon.
oblivionfan52
Thank you that is what I thought. In my case though it does not work, the main Vortex window flashes quickly like it's trying to hide but remains open.
oblivionfan52
I just tried uninstalling and reinstalling Vortex with no luck. Unfortunate since hiding to the system tray would be my preferred method over closing Vortex on game start. Well I can wait i'm sure this will get fixed it's not a major issue just a convenient little feature. I just filed a bug report in Vortex feedback. Pickysaurus
I spoke to Tannin about this. If you're starting a script extender it won't work as expected. This is because Vortex attempts to unhide itself once the app closes. The script extender exe only opens for a brief second while it injects and starts the main game exe. If you open something like Wyrebash (or the game proper) it will work as intended. The only workaround I can see if for Vortex not to attempt to unhide after the app closes. oblivionfan52
I do appreciate you checking on this for me. Could it be set for Vortex close to the system tray instead trying to hide, unhide on app start/stop. This is actually what I thought the hide feature did was close Vortex to the system tray as apposed to completely shutting down. At any rate as I said earlier this is only something that I think of as miner but convenient feature, the close on start will suffice. Thanks again for your help with my question. Pickysaurus
I'll pass it on! You may also want to submit your feedback inside Vortex too :)
