Arklon
Supreme Commander 1 (and its expansion Forged Alliance) used to have a central place to find mods and maps, the GPGNet Vault, which was ran by the developers. Some time after Square Enix bought the rights to the SupCom IP, GPGNet and the Vault were shut down. To this day there is still not any good place to find mods or maps for it AFAIK, and many mods have become unavailable altogether as they had been uploaded to the Vault exclusively. The only place to look for mods now is on Gas Powered Games' forums, and the forum which contains SupCom mods is the forum for mods of all games using its engine, and of course you have to dig through WIP project threads, request threads, and completely irrelevant threads on top of that, and even then once you find something interesting you might find out that the download link is broken due to the author having to resort to using not-so-future-proof hosting due to the lack of the GPGNet Vault. To make things even less straightforward, there is a separate forum for AI mods (which seemingly also includes all GPG games). The game itself does have its own built-in mod functionality, and there are a couple map editors (one official, one third-party) for it; SupCom 2 as I recall had no built-in modding functionality and did much to hinder mod creation, though some people have managed to create mods for it. The lack of a proper place for the SupCom modding community since the shutdown of the Vault has been a major hindrance in my eyes, for both the mod creators and the people trying to obtain mods. Would you consider creating a Supreme Commander Nexus?
Arklon
I'm going to bump this, as Gas Powered Games is now in dire straits as they cancelled their Wildman Kickstarter drive, which Chris Taylor stated multiple times in interviews that that was the company's lifeline. This means that the GPGNet forums could likely cease to exist soon as well, which would leave Supreme Commander without any centralized modding community at all. Dark0ne
Looks like GPG will be fine. I don't think a Sup Com Nexus would be used by the mod authors at all, and that's the most important thing.
