Rivolla
Please help. The NMM stopped seeing my .exe file of Skyrim. I don’t know at what point in time this happened. In general, when I wanted to download mods from the nexus using NMM, I could not find the folder with Skyrim installed and said I would scan the folder. I I clicked on the scan button and it turned out that my NMM does not see my Skyrim file. ATOP !!! I found a folder with the .exe file for him, and he writes “path does not contain game .exe”. I checked all three times , everything is exactly correct and the game starts from my .exe file. Perhaps this is due to the fact that I installed SKSE and many I had to rename the file from TESV. exe (initial name) to SkyrimSE. exe (final name), because SKSE could not start without it. I renamed the file, disabled antiviruses, started with HMM with admin rights. Of the options, I only had to reinstall the game , but there are still quite a lot of mods. Of course, I can manually download mods from the nexus and add them through the mod manager, but is there a solution to my problem? Rivolla
Oh, and yet, the nexus writes to me when trying to immediately download the mod from the nexus using NMM that it is "not set up to work with Skyrim". And it asks if the game is installed to rescan it. But game, ofcourse installed normaly.I guess, that it problem connected with first. Jannifer
Your problem is that you renamed the .exe file. You should start SKSE which will then start your game. You no longer need to rename the game's .exe file. Change the name of the .exe file back, then start SKSE first. If you use Steam, you can still start SKSE. If you start from a desktop shortcut as I do, then redo the shortcut so that it points to SKSE.exe. Also, if you have installed Skyrim outside of the regular Steam folder (and there is an option for that if you install Skyrim on a different drive), that can cause issues. TheGreatFalro
It seems like you have several problems here. I installed SKSE and many I had to rename the file from TESV. exe (initial name) to SkyrimSE. exe (final name), because SKSE could not start without it. ISounds like you downloaded SKSE64 instead of SKSE - i.e. you downloaded the SKSE for the Special Edition instead of for the old Legendary Edition. Oh, and yet, the nexus writes to me when trying to immediately download the mod from the nexus using NMM that it is "not set up to work with Skyrim". And it asks if the game is installed to rescan it. But game, ofcourse installed normaly.I guess, that it problem connected with first. However, this sound like you have NMM set up for the Special Edition and are trying to download an "Oldrim" mod. To clarify, are you using the newer, enhanced Skyrim Special Edition, or the older 2011 Skyrim? If you have a mods menu in-game, you're using the Special Edition and need to use mods specifically made for it, as they are two different games and mods and programs for them are not directly compatible. But everything works. I start SKSE from the shortcut on the desktop, but if my exe file of the game itself is called something different from SkyrimSE, then SKSE refuses to start the game and gives an error that he did not find the file "SkyrimSE.exe".Therefore,i renaimed that file and then game with SKSE earned.
