zmajtolovaj
Hi! Skyrim crashes in certain parts(e.g. path to High Hrothgar; outside Pinewatch, near Bannermist tower). It just CTDs and doesn't give any warning. Otherwise game works without crashes(~1 week with mods and without crashes) Here's my load order and mods installed:LINK I'm using a d3d9.dll file to fix the graphical oddities due to my ATI graphics card(latest avaliable drivers); I have multiple .ini tweaks applied(nothing to really big); running DXtory to monitor my FPS; I also ran Textures Optimizer, but I have ruled it out as a suspect(put the backup bsa back - no change) Any ideas, what might cause this? varakz
Well, I'd look for the cause of CTD following the procedure:1. Restore original ini files; 2. Run BOSS; 3. Place Realistic Lightning at the end of the Load Order;4. Install Wrye Bash and rebuild Bashed Patch (from you post it is not clear if you use it);4. Check CTD in the game. If you continue experiencing CTD then:5. In Wrye Bash, deactivate mods in the load list one by one, starting with Skyrim Performance;6. After deactivating each mod - rebuild Bashed Patch and Check CTD in the game.
chaospearl
Does it always CTD at the exact same place whenever you go there? Looking at your modlist, I'd guess that the culprit will turn out to be one of the SkyRe mods, or Radiance. Most likely EncounterZones, or EnemyAI. I'd start by removing those as a test; it'll save you a lot of time if I'm right. I'm looking at those because they're the only mods in your list that edit particular places in the game, or rather things that appear in particular places. Everything else changes the way a system works or the way an item appears. It is possible that something totally unrelated has a dirty edit that's causing issues, too. But try the more likely possibilities first.
zmajtolovaj
Thanks for the suggestions! I tried regenerating .ini but it didn't work. Then I tried removing the mods(by the date of instalation) and found the one that caused problems: Paper Map with Height After I removed this mod, I made the trek to High hrothgar without chrashes. @chaospearl: It crashed at the exactly same spot. For example: I cleared the Pinewatch, went outside the house, made a couple steps down the path and it crashed, but if I turned in the other direction and went that way it didn't crash. High hrothgar crash was especially annoying beacuse there's only one path. EDIT: Scratch that, had another crash; used Wyre bash and now it seems to work fine. MotoSxorpio
You could be overflowing your gfx memory...try setting LOD fade sliders ingame a click or two lower. (test by lowering by half)
