goblin072
So I am currently trying to create a mod, a rather complex one at that. But the first thing I must learn is how to make weapons, mostly because my mod involves a coconut. so I made the coconut a re-skin of the iron sword, it works like a sword and slashes like a sword, but it has no textures.I've done what one of the more popular tutorials said, it got my coconut into the game. But when i loaded the game, the coconut has a purpleish non descript color to it, even when i seemed to have put the textures in the right place and they seem to work in the NIFSKOPE editor.I have no idea what I am doing wrong. I will include pictures of the glitch and the set up, i understand the text may be small, so I ask that you download it if you can not read. http://i1191.photobucket.com/albums/z466/MRHANKY2000/glitch1.png PS: I am not entirely new to modding (Ive worked with WC3 and SC2, but Skyrim is a little different.) it just seems as though Skyrim hasn't "clicked" yet. ghosu
Downloading the picture won't change the text size...i would recommend to upload the files (nif, dds, plugin) so "we" can check 'em.

I realize that, but you are able to zoom in on it at least. I did make the resolution high enough so it is readable. Anyway here's the file http://www.mediafire.com/?qm0ig0l476e9bln
ghosu
The screenshots resolution is 480x1024, this is how it looks zoomed in: http://666kb.com/i/c8f0wx4wjmhptbujd.jpg ...at least i can't read that. And regarding your problem: http://f.666kb.com/i/c8f0y1rqppm4lnoex.jpg Delete your BSLightningShaderProperties, open the original vanilla longsword.nif, copy/paste the original BSLightningShaderProperties into your modded nif to replace your old ones, change the texturepaths to your .dds and set it up like this: http://666kb.com/i/c8f10nz5oimfi215l.jpg greetings Edited October 25, 2012 by ghosu

MotoSxorpio
Setup Nifskope right...RENDER>Settings>add folder...when you add the path nifskope truncates (shortens) the path from a direct path (example: C:/program files/etc etc) to game path (example: textures/my new folder/my texture.dds)
