PhasMan72
Hi all I'm new to gaming and everything that goes with it. Including forums.Middle aged, neglected gaming for decades since the good old days of Might & Magic era, I took the plunge with Xbox One S and Skyrim was the only game I like the look of.Skyrim is epic, I'm hooked.I have no pc skills so my desire to mod probably won't go anywhere, but I'm so impressed what people can do with mods for Skyrim.Thank you big time modders. Rabbit1251
A big welcome to the Lion of Wales, PhasMan!! I hope that you find your most desirable mods among the many on the site. I'm sure, though, that you are not to come away empty handed. Enjoy your stay!! The Welcome Rabbit
Deleted54170User
I began studying the creation kit and forgot many important points of game changes I wanted to make while studying, because I thought I would remember all those things that got my thinking cap propeller spinning. I learned to F5/Save. I Saved at any point in the game that made my propeller on my thinking cap spin; then open right on the spot to ignite all the brain cells again. My Advice: Learn to use the construction set. Keep notes like I read people did in D&D or if Might & Magic was that style. What turns your creative light bulb on will be easier to recall if you just pop into the game there. Since MORROWIND is an RPG like Skyrim I had loads more fun! Only one mod though. I'm old! Enjoy! CiWitch
@PhasMan72I'm in the same boat as you. I'm also middle aged and also neglected gaming for decades so I'm without very extensive gaming experience. I played some console recently - Skyrim also (equally hooked) - and have just moved into PC gaming. Now I want to use mods, but I'm not a coder or programmer so the lingo has me very much lost. Even the beginner guides are over my head. Nice to meet you. Edited December 16, 2019 by CiWitch
Deleted54170User
@PhasMan72 and CiWitch Then you both should be aware that many of the mods that seem likely to make the game better have been made part of the game via the Bethesda Softworks troop. So they are no longer needed as they were when the game was new. It has been quite awhile since the modders added such things that patched the game, or made stuff in the games as they could have been but the authors left them with no link and so, people who saw and knew made the parts appear that were in the game but not activated. Even if you use the mods from STEAM's list there are some that aren't needed. Adding them can cause problems, conflicts with upgrades, and to items that were seen as liked by the public. Be aware that many of the older mods need not be used for things like Weather, Scenario, light beaming through the trees and around rocks while you're standing in the shade. Can make the game very exciting eye candy and even cause you to jump because a lightning bolt strikes the ground randomly nearby. Which can and does hit your character too. And too. SKSE is a must to have and you must know the loader in your game file has a short cut so you can launch Skyrim to use it too. Use the STEAM SKSE and it appears in the games list in the library of your games. Click to to launch Skyrim. Enjoy the thrill of playing the game and mods which are of interest. Remember, it's as much fun as you make it; and misery often is the newcomers and returning players lot, who go putting too many mods in all at once.
