While I will say that it's better than any Fallout game (honestly I think The Glow was the only time I ever used Rad-X), +1 Rad/Sec around nearly every radioactive source is really pathetic. I think I get exposed to more than that when I change the batteries in my smoke detectors. So far the only radiation mod I've seen is the 'more radioactive water' mod, which is a great step in the right direction, as it increases it to +9/+10 ish, meaning I actually need to pop some rad-x and carry a radiation suit. But that said, and I assume I'm going to have to wait for a CS for this, am I the only one disappointed in the overall lack of radioactivity OUTSIDE of water? Sure there's a few piles of barrels here and then, but for the most part, you can run through these areas bare-ass naked, quickly snag all the stuff, and run out and soak less than 50 rads. Even after blowing up megaton there's no radioactivity anywhere except when you're climbing right on the ruins itself, fifty feet from the epicenter. Then you just pull out one of your 30 bags of RadAway (that retail for 28 caps with a barter skill of ~20) and you're good. Yes, I know 200 years have passed and nearly all atomic by-products are decayed or dispersed, but I'd really like to see more STALKER-esque 'pockets' of radioactivity... places I'm going to have to wander around in in an environmental suit. Right now I just use it to swim and inside the Nuka-Cola plant... Second issue is food and such. To be frank, Stimpacks are so plentiful I've never eaten anything, or drank any dirty water. Hell the only time I drank any water in the game world was when I was trying to pick up a floating Quantum bottle and kept sucking riverwater. These are two more sources of radiation that may as well be non-existent. Does ANYone eat / drink in this game out of necessity (and not just in a bullshit 'lol i'm playing pretend' kinda way). On another note, is it possible to neutralize radioactivity completely? Even with a radsuit on and swallowing three Rad-X I still can't completely eliminate exposure (though I'm sure my ungloved right hand for the Pipboy doesn't help). I'm sure that's a rounding 'error' with the math, if anything. What other ways can you think of to make radiation more of an issue? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

mikekearn Posted November 10, 2008 Share Posted November 10, 2008 I eat and drink stuff all the time, because I don't like using Stimpaks when I don't have to. I try and save them for when I'm caught in the middle of an ambush and don't happen to have any food or drink on my being.
