Forgot how to install and use mods

I'm not striclty new to this but it's been years since I actually installed and used mods.

I had Fallout 4 on my computer all set up the way I wanted it, with mods installed (same with Skyrim). I've been playing it this way for a long time without having to change anything.

Recently my old Win 7 computer completely crashed and automatically reinstalled Windows. Not sure why, or what happened, but that's what it did.

Now my Nexus mods are not there any longer, so I can't load and play my game. I need to reinstall the mods and I have no idea how to do it. I also know that there is a screen where I have to put the mods in a particular order, and I have completely forgotten how to do that, too.

Any help would be appreciated.

Well if your talking about skyrim then Mod Organizer 2 is the way to go, and download latest version of Loot to sort your load order.

Edit: Oh and btw there was an update not long ago, and SKSE64 has to be updated before mods can be used on the updated version, but you may be able to rollback the version on your steam console

@Hagatha

Follow rmm200's advice concerning Vortex and watch Gopher's excellent introductory video. Also, you will find excellent help and support in this forum, should you choose to use Vortex as a mod manager. Finally, LOOT is fully integrated into Vortex, giving you load order capability the minute you start up Vortex.
