Just a quick question on the updated security

I recently logged in and was asked to update my password, which I did. But I noticed my two-factor authentication was no longer active.

After checking my settings I found it now asks for a mobile number to be setup in order to enable it, rather then the older method where it was sent to your email.

I do not own a mobile, although this puts me in a small percentage of individuals that don't own mobiles, why is the option no longer available for it just to goto my email?

Could you please re-enable the older method for two-factor authentication and account recovery for those like myself that do not own mobiles?

Thanks.

Our new 2FA does not require a mobile number, but it does require an Authentication app. These are commonly found on mobiles, but some - such as Authy - can be installed directly onto your PC. I use Authy as it syncs across my devices and has a Chrome addon.

We will not be re-enabling the email based 2FA as it provides significantly inferior security compared to the new method.

Thanks for understanding.

Well that's unfortunate.

So then I would need to add another browser to my system in order to use the authentication seeing as I don't use Chrome.

Well thanks for the information.
