Is anybody else able to play fallout 4?

Is anyone else even capable of playing fallout 4? those who reverted their .exe's that is?

I reverted my .exe,.esm, and interface.ba2. The game launches without crashing (finally), but when trying to start a new game it just stays on the white screen before character creation. I have all mods disabled and it still doesn't start a new game. I had all mods disabled when trying to continue on my last save and it still crashed. I even re-enabled them all to try to load in with that save and still crashed. I've downloaded that 17 GB file TWICE or more now and triple checked that I've reverted the files AND the correct files. Hell I've even moved my old data file to a different location and input a new one, and when I do that, there's no background or anything on the start menu. Doesn't even do the little gear wheel introduction. Has this game gone to s#*! now after it's OWN developers put out, apparently, not one but 2 god damn updates? Is anyone even able to play the game modded now??? Because I'm positive i've done everything by the book and my s#*! still isn't working, where as in any other scenario it would have. Did I miss something? wtf is going on here? I spent months getting the perfect load order to make the game feel great in almost every scenario and once I got to the point where I could say I honestly don't need another mod, an update comes out that breaks absolutely everything. this is fantastic. Was there any other step that was not listed in any of the "how to revert" guides or videos that I've missed? Because as far as I know it was pretty god damn simple.

replace the .exe

replace the .esm

replace the interface.ba2.

and of course there's the obvious step of preventing steam from auto updating the game again... forever.

Provide me with last known good / valid saved game file and I'll test it.

Yes, I can play the game fine with the updates and without.

My games are installed on ssd cards, NOT drives, but flash photo cards for the speed.

I use DEV versions of Mod Organizer to isolate all My gaming data to local files systems.

Fallout 4 has it's own ssd card and steam packaging.

Same applies to Borderlands 2 and other games.

Fallout76 is a complete Joke but none the less it too has it's own ssd card so all the games run fine-here.

that's the thing. all of my saves are now corrupted thanks to this.

I'm most literally forced to start a new game and I can't even do that!

Provide me with the file and I'll be the judge of the corruption issues, there are things going on I can advise to remove on your side that is corrupting the games, you DO NOT need to revert your software.

I know whats going on.

I just tried to validate my files through steam and it says 5 files fail to validate, but yet doesn't tell me what those files are =__=

here is what you do

It's involved but you still will need t do it

the files failing are due to Windows and the other add-on software's your using , mainly the script-extend files.

the older files were all registered t oan older setup, when steam updates your software, these updates do not propagate to your windows system SO, they are no longer going to be validated because your files were changed BY YOU, not them.

The programs you used to change YOUR games files are not part of the game, Nor are they part of windows system files, how ever, when you alter your files on the system, they are now your files and the system registers your changes and will not allow steams changes to take place.

there are choices you can make to fix the issues, it depends on how well you know things, how things work.

Because you have 5 fails from steam reports, and you do not know where to look to ID them, you can either uninstall the Entire game and clean the operating system from all registry entries and start fresh OR sift through the event manager and siphon the failed files from there,

records are kept for every thing.

IF the files have signatures, then you need t know which files are no longer valid from steam.

The files have been downloaded, it is Windows that is preventing steam from altering the files due to actions the user has taken, changed.

licensing the files 1 by 1 is the other option.

IF this is way over your head? it's not a big deal. But it is not steams fault like I see being posted all over the place.

It's modifying software your not supposed to be doing in the first place.

well at current I re-validated my files and now there are 3 files. I'm assuming they are the .exe,.esm. and interface.ba2 seeing that those are the only changes I've made when I attempted to do a successful revert of the game...again... for the millionth time. this time around is just crashes when it launches. It's funny, the game ran like a dream just a few days ago, now it feels like i'm the only one who can't even start the damn thing. I checked with vortex and it says my .esm is not valid either. I'm not entirely sure what is going on. I do wonder, if this has anything to do with wyre bash maybe? idk. I've been at this all day.

When I did update the game after the first time I tried validating my files, it had actually ran. But once I left the vault and went to activate my mods, game just started crashing when loading into the game. Then, like I said above, after I reverted -- it started crashing on launch. I've been digging through files all day, I can't find a solution to this.

Ok, in few minutes I'll post some pictures here for you with instructions.

1rst: I want you to run the game directly from steam and allow things to take place.

report results.

UPDATE to the game is 591.72 MB backed up known files in MO 2 under backups.

Ok, game runs fine how ever the update screwed up the graphics , it's all orange here.

clean launch though after the update ran directly through steam with zero roll back.

Dam xbox video thingy did not remove the overlay.

uploading a test run of the problems found due to steams update on a known good OS and tools sets.

NO mods period.

NO Creation club garbage. Just the raw game on a users saved game file I had.

so hang on.

I'll say this much, there leaves a lot to be desired on the update, it royally screwed up a good game.

you'll see shortly.
