Camonna
I am not sure if this belongs in The "off topic" board but general morrowind seemed to be the right board to put it in. I had first heard about morrowind the elder scrolls three from my uncle but then on the net I reaserched the other ones and found out all about Bethesda and The elder scrolls. I did not have an Xbox and therefore could not play the game at my house but I had too crappy of a comp for the pc version so on eBay My uncle bought me daggerfall to play on my crappy computer. I am at level 8 at this time and Have noticed that all of the non-main quest quests are boring and repetetive and I also hate the stupid midi songs playing in my head. does anybody play or have played daggerfall? if so, write here and tell me. batesmotel34
I played Daggerfall quite a bit when it was new although I never finished the main quest. Overall it was a very good RPG for it's day and there are respsects in terms of openness and all the different choices that you could make in which it is better than Morrowind. One of these days i expect I'll go back and see if I can finish the main quest in it. The randomly generated quests and dungeons were one of the annoying aspects of it and Morrowind does much better than Daggerfall did with all the quests, terrain and dungeons being hand generated instead. One thing that you can do to minimize the annoyance of the random quests and dungeons is to save before you ask the mages guild (or whoever) for a new quest. If you get one that you don't want to do, then reload and try again. This was pretty common advice I heard when I was playing the game. In partiuclar the quests to guard the mages guild or otherwise do something short term were a lot more popular than go find a partiucalr item rrandomly located in some randomly generated dungeon. Camonna
I liked how there were so many places to go to. does anybody know about any mods that are around for daggerfall?
Osiris
I bought it about a year and a half ago off of eBay for 10 or so bucks. I was looking for a good rpg similar to morrowind and i thought Daggerfall was my best bet. It worked on my old comp fine but when i bought a new one it wouldn't run. Though I haven't spent too much time trying to get it to run, i couldn't adjust to the graphics. Oh well, anyone want it? :P I dont think there's any mods for it, but i know you can dl charater files...

If you don't like emulation or you want to try your luck with a different method, go right ahead and look at the OS-specific options on the same page. Osiris
Yea I'm not a complete dumbass. I didn't think it was worth the trouble to download and run an application like that to play a game that I already knew I didn't like very much. When I put it in my new comp and it didn't just play, I had expected so, I said screw it I'm not wasting my time with it. If I had played it on my old one already, don't you think I would have known how to get it going?? I didn't feel like explaining that im my above post but I guess now I have... Sludgewort, You can download character saves from some old daggerfall websites, do a google search you'll find one.
Camonna
Thanks Osris, I`ll look for some good ones. I had found a Patch for Daggerfall that fixed some really retarted bugs in the game but I am still looking for one that has some extra quests or something.
