IanEG
Has anyone had any performance issues with the new beta driver from nvdia? I seem to be getting sudden drops in fps (55 droping to 45) that I never had before. I'm not sure if its the drivers or the 1.8 patch causing issues
shardiru
I'm having a heap of issues as well with 1.8. Steam magically turned on it's auto-update. I don't play the game without mods, many of which require SKSE, so in order to play, I had to downgrade the game back to 1.7, however, something that 1.8 installed that wouldn't be overwritten by reinstalling 1.7 really fubared the game up. I'm getting as low as 5 FPS in most places whereas I should be getting 30+.
Patrick2me
On the topic of Nvidia drivers, what would be the best driver to use for Skyrim? I'm currently using 296.10, but considering updating to the latest

Deleted3507349User
I just ditched my brand-new 560Ti. Don't get me wrong, it ran skyrim fast and smooth...sometimes for whole minutes at a time! Didn't matter which driver I used, either. It liked to crash the game outside of Solitude regularly too. I went back to my ancient Radeon 2400XT. The performance is pretty low, but Skyrim simply doesn't crash with it. Here's the really odd thing, I even tried running the SAME EXACT Settings on both cards......crash with the geforce, solid as a rock with the 2008-vintage radeon. I swapped the geforce for a new radeon r6670, going to try that this weekend.
blitzen
Good luck. My best experience for a stable TES game was with running an older ATI card with Oblivion. No crashing for ages. I have no idea if any crashing I have now with Skyrim is due to nvidia drivers. I think the game has enough causes of crashes itself with mods that the video drivers don't get the chance to cause a crash. I'm running a GTX 570. I have no complaints about its overall performance.
