  1. This sounds really cool. Good find, I'm going to try this out when I get my new character up and running.
  2. Sorry for not replying sooner. Requiem does a lot to make combat harder, but more fair. I have only been using it for a little while, so I can't tell you the full extent of the things it does, but here are some quotes from the mod's readme. - Archers are now extremely deadly. Arrows are much faster, NPCs aim better, drawing a bow takes more time for untrained persons. A normal human will go down with one or two hits when not being armored heavily - for a piece of wood and metal in your intestines isn't something you just shrug off. - Armor is required to survive direct combat, unarmored targets are dispatched in a trice, therefore, all armor ratings have been improved greatly - Many foes now possess more perks and skills, making combat even more thrilling - if you see someone wielding a mace, he most likely has also training in its use, so make yourself ready for some armor-penetrating blows!. - Many foes now possess more perks and skills, making combat even more thrilling - if you see someone wielding a mace, he most likely has also training in its use, so make yourself ready for some armor-penetrating blows! Hope this helps
  3. Aye, your ideas are quite nice in my opinion. Guard = Man at arms? (Like, more simple armors than knight, much less armor and so. "cheaper" armors, thus more available to anyone) Knight = Heavily armored. Tank. Balls of steel. Heavy weapons and shields. Bowman/Crossbowman = There could be both, from what I see of armors you've done, I think there's enough material for both. Bowman = More agile armor, leather, clothes and so. Crossbowman = More armor, possibly having pavise as you suggested. And of course the funny crossbowman helmet  Holds/villages Sounds good. They couldn't afford having knights around. And it would make the knights "dulling" sight. As far as I am concerned, gearing a knight would be expensive, there wouldn't be tons of knights around. In Oblivion it made sense, because Cyrodiil is the "capital" of Tamriel, but Skyrim is somewhat poor and ravaged by war. Also, it makes it somewhat more "rare" or "special" to see a knight in battlefield. Just like those are supposed to be. Adding on to this idea. Holds loyal to the Stormcloaks could have huscarls(housecarls?) and holds loyal to the Imperials could have Knights. If my understanding is correct, huscarls are the Scandinavia equivalent to Knights.
  4. Basically when I get near a town the audio will cut off, then whenever I open my pipboy, start menu, or try to load a interior cell, it will freeze. I'm not really sure why this was happening, so any help is appreciated. 5. You might want to focus on conjuration so you can summon some extra help.
  6. How about a hunting camp. You could choose where to set up your camp. Maybe even have the option to hire some more hunters, or use companions, that will go into a sandbox kinda mode where they go out a hunt some animals. They could bring back any pelts and meat they get, and you could sell it to people in cities.
  7. Two armors in one day! You sir, are a god among modders. :D
  8. I agree with this. Not just in combat, but I also imagine capes getting in the way when trying to run through foliage and stuff. A quick google search told me that capes were often used to distinguished ranks and alliances, so I could understand a guard captain using a cape to show his/her position. Maybe you could make the capes a separate piece of equipment like the Cloaks of Skyrim mod and only give it to high ranking guards. Also I think that back in medieval times people wore more of a cloak kind of thing rather then a cape to keep warm. But it really depends on what your style is; if your trying to be more aesthetically pleasing or historically accurate. Either way, the armor looks amazing.
  9. I wonder how the DLC will work based on if you finished the main quest or not. It would be interesting to see the Dragonborn quest line change if you haven't finished the main quest yet. Also, I wonder what Paarthurnax will have to say about the whole situation.
  10. I don't know much about modding, but I think you could just use the creation kit. Just open it up, load the Skyrim.esm and the .esm for the Warchief armor. Then on the Objects tab, click on actors and do a search called stormcloak. A bunch of items will come up. Double click each actor and go over to the inventory tab and replace the stormcloak armor with the Warchief gear. Sorry if this isn't a great little guide. I only know the basics from fiddling around in the creation kit. Also you might want to check out this video. It talks about npcs and such. It might help you out.
  11. Here is some small things I noticed: 0:05- Top right corner of the screen is a red banner. It appears to have some sort of animal on it, possible a bear or wolf? 0:18- Some sort of magic ritual at what appears to be Shaak. 0:22-look towards to right at the main island. Their is what looks like a storm over there. You can see a flash. Maybe more dynamic weather is coming? 0:27-Morrowind Netch 1:00 Some cool looking armor and a spear
  12. There's plenty of other military forces that might use something that fancy, maybe the Knights of the Rose from Wayrest, High Rock? The lore states that Wayrest is one of the wealthiest cities in High Rock. http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Wayrest,_Jewel_Of_The_Bay http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Knights_of_the_Rose Do they feature in Skyrim? I havent played past the 2nd Greybeard mission, as I was taking my baby steps in modding when Skyrim was released.. I stopped trying to mod and stopped playing Skyrim as I could not mod it, at the time. Since the Nightasy tutorials I have learned so much and am now able to work towards my goals with Credo. So please no spoilers (I have already spoiled a few things for my self by looking through the CK :armscrossed:) But suggestions like this are very useful.. so thanks Nope, their not in the game. I would like to add that Bretons are (or they atleast they appear to be) loosely based off of Northern Europeans. Some people in this thread have been discussing it. http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/822631-bretons-are-celtic/ I think your Northman armor would fit Bretons more sufficiently rather than Hussar styled armor. Some of other armor types, such as Elven, Glass, and Ebony aren't native to Skyrim. So Hussar style armor might work for those armor types because that style is not native to Western Europe. I hope that made sense.
  13. On the topic of Nvidia drivers, what would be the best driver to use for Skyrim? I'm currently using 296.10, but considering updating to the latest
  14. The armors look great. I especially like the guardsmen's armor. Good luck!
  15. Wow, seems really good. Got extra 10-20 frames while moving! Good find. Unfortunately I'm still really slowing down using ENB which is a shame. Glad I could help.
  16. You might want to check out the Perfect Legionnaire mod http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/6085 or Roman Imperial Armor and Weapons http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/10740 They both add an affect similar to what you are looking for.
  17. I've been messing around in the Creation Kit and found that if you change the equip type of a two handed weapon to right handed you can equip a weapon or shield in your left hand while still being able to use the 2 handed weapon as normal. The only problem I've encountered so far is that their is some clipping while in first person. This only occurs when you are moving or are in idle. So I would like to change the animation for walking, running, and just standing when you have a two handed weapon out to that of a staff. Is that even possible? If so can someone please explain to me how to do this?
  18. I like to use HiAlgoBoost. http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/15123 It is great if your gpu is the the think holding you back.
  19. I don't really think either candidate is best for the U.S. I guess I prefer Obama, but I'd much rather see a third party candidate gain some traction. This is going to be my first opportunity to vote in the General Election and I hate the feeling of being restricted to vote either Democrat or Republican. It seems to me that to really make a big difference, would be at the local and state level. If a genuine third party politician was elected as a Governor, and he/she made great strides within that state, it might help promote people to look into other parties.
  20. No worries, I got it to work fine this time around. Thanks again, you saved me some money
  21. Thanks, I've used motionjoy before, but couldn't get it to work properly. I'll give it another try.
  22. I have been debating with myself whether or not to get Dark Souls for the PC. With all the talk I've heard of it being a terrible PC port, I didn't know if I should spend the money or not. I've finally decided to buy it, but I'm lacking a game pad to play with. So does anyone know any good and not overly expensive controllers? I also have a PS3 controller, if anyone knows how to get it working on a PC.
  23. The way I see it, this is just a small addon. Its not like the entire Bethesda team was devoted on making this. Plus, no one is making you buy it, you could always go for the free alternative and download mods that let you build your own home.
  24. I'm not very PC very knowledgeable when it comes to how the hardware works, so I can be completely wrong on this. I think Skyrim is a 32 bit program. Generally 32bit programs don't use more than 2 cores. So my guess is Skyrim wasn't designed to run on more than 2 cores which is why using 4 cores would hurt performance.
