HERE STARTS CHAPTER SEVEN: PENETRATING THE ARCHDOME

SUPER TAMRIEL SAGA

0041(0007)0001: LUCKYTHIRTEEN: PENETRATING THE ARCHDOME

The ArchDome proved to be of some danger, of some surprises, but ended some hundred levels down at a great chamber with thirteen false Waygates. These were completely inactive and totally drained of energies. Most of the ArchDome underground zone was bare, abandoned, but there were chambers partly filled with an amazing array of Dwemer, Ayleid and other artifacts.

Three times Dwemer guardian devices attacked Jadekin, Jadestone and the JadeKnights but were knocked out with out being destroyed. It was not difficult for the mechanisms had been with out maintenance for a long time and were undercharged.

There were resources of knowledge in the form of Ayleid tablets, Dwemer datacrystals and ancient books of both people along with other sets of information.

There were Ayleid floaterdisks, Dwemer steam-mechanisms, Ayleid crystalstones, Dwemer crystalcores and much else of the kind.

There were great stacks of metallic container cubes, metallic wooden crates, lidboxes, sacks and much else of the kinds.

There were dark reminders of the slavery of the Ayleid United Kingdoms from slave control collars, to punishment racks, slave harnesses, whips and other items that very few Cyrodilic or Imperiat humans would be pleased to see. The same was true for other peoples who were enslaved by the Ayleid for though humans had been the majority of slaves, they had not been the only ones. Goblinfolk, lizardfolk (Argonians), orcs (Orcmer) and humans from other Provinces had shared the exploitation.

They found two other outposts, and one main encampment, of the expedition but only some dead remains. They found no living members of the expedition. Nor did they find any living MythicDawn Followers though, earlier on, MythicDawners had appeared in zombinoid and zombinor form. They did not even find any other signs that MythicDawn Followers had been there.

A decision was made. Jadekin departed to Cloud Ruler Temple to check on what was going on there. Jadestone remained in the ArchDome, with the JadeKnights, further searching for information on what was going on. More generally they were charting the area and trying to discover more resources that might be there.

So it was after Jadekin had departed that Jadestone found the great domechamber that was one side of the ArchDome's great wide vertical cylinder plunging into the ground. There he, and his companions, stared in amazement at what they had found. It was a massive magical machine of some kind, yet was more than that by the 'feel' of it. A great pyramid shaped hub rose into the air at the center of the domechamber and from this arched outwards four great, double jointed metallic arms, each one coming from one side of the pyramid.

One of the arms ended in a great translucent crystal orb. A second great arm ended in a great metallic cube. A third arm ended in great cluster formation of crystal orbs, big but much smaller than the one on the end of the first arm. A fourth arm ended in a formation of semitransparent capsules, each looking as if it could take an adult humanoid such as a human. From the top of the pyramid rose a high, thick golden metallic rod that, at the top, ended in a silvery crystal sphere. The strange machine, if it could be called such, was clearly inactive and if it held any charge of energy, it did not show.

0042(0007)0002: LUCKYTHIRTEEN: PENETRATING THE ARCHDOME

They found a Dwemer underground train station, complete with an exotic Dwemer train engine and three carriages, one being for passengers and two for cargo. At the end was a guard carriage. The train was inactive, lacking charge, and not far from the station part of the Dwemer Tubeway tunnel had collapsed. Still it was a great find, especially in an Ayleid structure, for the Dwemer had built only a relatively small number of Tubeways, and trains, even at the height of their civilization.

Jadestone, and the JadeKnights, were coming out of the ArchDome for a rest, at its surface when they confronted an angry scene. The Imperial City Governor, back up by some reluctant acting Imperial Guardsmen, was demanding access to the ArchDome. Mages Guild mages were not letting the Governor go past the gate. They were pointing out, truly enough, that the Mages Guild had the proper authority to stop anybody entering a place involved with dangerous magic. They were backed up by priestesses, and priests, of the Divine Orders because the ArchDome was considered a place of spiritual darkness and danger.

Jadestone was not slow in sending the Imperial City Governor away and was just as quick to instigate a special investigation into that man to see if there was any hidden agenda behind his demands. It was quickly found that the man was a MythicDawn traitor and then his dead body was found in his grand looking office. He had apparently died of a heart attack but traces of poison were found in his blood of the kind that caused such to happen.

RESTARTING BACKGROUND EVENTS

SUPER TAMRIEL SAGA

0043(0000)0003: LUCKYTHIRTEEN: BACKGROUND EVENTS

Jadecora appeared at the main gates of Talos' Divine Realm of Vandegar and, to her surprise, was let in with no fuss. There were Bladekin, lesser divines serving Talos, dead champions and others there in VandegarCity. The metropolis was made up of huge, impressive, ornate buildings of heavy fortified appearance. Great columns, archways and statues were common. Bladekin were metallic humanoids of different sizes being big hulking Bladehulks, smaller faster Bladekynes and even smaller faster Bladenoids. There were Blademaidens, beautiful young appearing women in armor that left them seminaked. Jadecora knew Talos had created the Blademaidens to annoy her but she could not be bothered to react in that fashion.

Talos was not there but his DemiDivine (demigoddess) daughter was. She was TalosSofia and was running the realm of Vandegar while her father was gone. She seemed rather frustrated and soon explained why.

“Father has gone missing and he has taken with him many Bladekin and resurrected Bladechampions. I fear he is going to do something very foolish unless he has already started to do so.” TalosSofia was beautiful and young by the standards of the Divines. She was, in appearance, a young Imperiat woman who was slimly muscular and in divine magical power armor that fitted her body snugly. She led her own force of BladeAmazons and did not much care for the existence of the Blademaidens though she treated them well.

Jadecora hugged, kissed, her grand-daughter. They got on quite well and TalosSofia got on quite well with Talos, her father, except when they were fighting. Jadecora, and Talos, had been estranged since Talos had done something to make his mother extremely angry indeed. Jadecora had informed Akatosh who had called for a full meeting of the Nine Divines and Talos had been punished. For some reason Talos saw Jadeecora's going to Akatosh as betrayal, refusing to see that Jadecora had no choice given an ancient agreement that had existed a lot longer than Talos himself had done.

The irony of what Talos had done was that it would be seen as the actions of a greater immortal, a deity, and thus judged differently than the actions of those of a mortal or even a lesser immortal. Mortals were likely to just shake their heads, speak of the 'strangeness and the higher worldly affairs of greater immortals', then change subjects. It was not considered wise, by mortals, to get involved in the private affairs of deities even by speaking too much of them. This was true of the Greater Divines but even more so with the Grand Daedra.

The other difficulty was that it was very hard to punish such an extremely powerful entity as any of the Nine Divines were though Talos was the weakest of them. Only the Eight Aedra Divines, together, could do so with any real impact and that was what was done. But Talos could not be punished too harshly because not just the Nine needed him but also the Empire and Tamriel. Also Talos was the Great Heroic Divine and so both his crime and punishment were kept secret from the common masses of the mortals of Tamriel.

What had Talos done? In a moment of seeming madness he had seduced mortal women. Such might be accepted by the Daedra but not by the Divines. Talos had claimed he did not know what had gotten into him, what had influenced him into such madness but he could not explain what could have caused him to do so. Many children had been born due to his mad ventures. All were classed as either MortalDivines or DemiDivines but it had yet to be decided what Greater Divine they would serve in future. Certainly the Nine Divines had been forced to intervene in their lives to keep safe Talos' new children.

SUPER TAMRIEL SAGA

0044(0000)0004: LUCKYTHIRTEEN: BACKGROUND EVENTS

Talos had spent time imprisoned in Divine Reflective Isolation, had lost privileges on the Council of the Nine, could no longer cast a vote and had been stripped of some of his powers. Two of his DemiDivine daughters had become estranged from him but not TalosSofia. TalosSofia, unlike TalosVivia and TalosPasha, believed that some dark exterior force had influenced Talos into doing what he had done.

Jadecora had come to change her mind on that subject, had began to wonder if her son was really telling the truth. Talos had known moments of mad action in the past, hence the reluctance of others to believe him, but back then he had admitted to being in the wrong when such moments had passed. This time, unlike in the past, he had denied that he was responsible. He had been punished, as in the past, despite his protestations.

Jadecora had even begun to wonder if more than just Talos had fallen to some kind of subtle, deadly manipulation. Had she, herself, fallen to such?

=-=Question, could there be a link between the MythicDawn Conspiracy, the OneTrueDivine that has been hinted at, the TwistedGod and what has happened to Talos?

Jadecora did not like the idea at all for it hinted at the strong possibility of conspiracies, perhaps even counter conspiracies, as driven by gods and goddesses. Mortal conspiracies were bad enough, as were those of lesser immortals, but when greater immortals got involved than such became terrifying in their ramifications.

Jadecora=I must seek a proper place to pray to the AllDivine, to mediate within the AllDivine and to perhaps gain some guidance.

=-=The AllDivine constantly, consistently, gives guidance and clues. Yet your idea shows much wisdom. I suggest the AllDivine Temple at the core of the Realm of DiviniaPrime.

DiviniaPrime was a Divine Realm used as common 'ground' by all the Nine Divines and others of the Divinedom. Yet it was not the actual core of Divinia, the totality of the Realms of Divinity. That was the DiviniaCore.

Jadecora did not like the idea of going to the crowded temple where even privileged mortals, and lesser immortals, were allowed to visit though many did so in special dreams or visions. Or at least they thought they did so.

She spoke to TalosSofia. “Is the Temple of the Nine, here in VandegarCity, fully functional?”

Jadecora nodded. “Yes, though it is rarely crowded or even half full. Why do you ask, if you mind me asking that of you?”

Jadecora studied TalosSofia carefully for a moment and then spoke. “I wish to use the Chamber of the AllDivine, the Divine of Divines, in that temple complex.”

TalosSofia smiled. “Of course! Just follow me and we will go there by a transit path.”

Jadecora sighed. “Who are you really?” Then she smiled. “TalosSashi, you are naughty but very clever. Your mother would not be pleased that you have pretended to be her.”

SUPER TAMRIEL SAGA

0045(0000)0005: LUCKYTHIRTEEN: BACKGROUND EVENTS

TalosSofia shimmered, changed, and became a child demigoddess. TalosSashi was the daughter to TalosSofia and the grand-daughter to Talos. She was actually centuries old. She was cute, adorable and had a fine, dark streak running through her nature.

TalosSashi frowned softly. “Mother went to try to find grandfather so I thought that pretending to be mother might help things. It is very boring.”

Jadecora smiled some more. “We will go and sort things out, shall we.”

TalosSashi sighed. “No need, really, grandmother! The followers worked out my fakery quick enough. I made the mistake of trying to change the rules about how much sweetened energies I could consume and how much reality I could play with. Also some strange things have been happening that I do not like at all and that are worrying the followers.”

TalosSashi tended to be quite fearless, too much so, and for her to show such concern was not good.

“How did you know I was not TalosSofia, grandmother?” TalosSashi summoned an elemental disk of energy and they both stepped onto it. “I thought I was doing good.”

“I knew from the start that matters were not quite right but you are very much like your mother so I had more difficulty than I might normally did.” Jadecora added with out mentioning the dark streak both had in their natures as did Talos himself. “The Temple of the Nine, here in VandegarCity, does not have a Chamber of the AllDivine. There is a small separate Temple of the AllDivine that is considered to be a semiautonomous part of the whole temple complex. Also there is no transit path that leads to the Temple of the Nine because transit paths can cause disturbances in spiritual quietness, or so tradition would have it so. Perhaps you should visit there more often.”

TalosSashi shook her head. “We must go to the temple complex for I have something you must see but you will not like it.”

Most of the VandegarCity Temple Complex was lightly damaged from the dark divine magical attack that had taken place but the AllDivine Temple was melted down into a strange shape. Considering the amazingly hard materials that the smaller temple had been made of, as were all the buildings of the city, it would have taken amazing power to do so much damage.

TalosSashi frowned. “I did not do this! I only got to Vandegar, from Courager, after it all happened. I sent messages to lots of places but I fear that they might have considered them to be another prank of mine.”

At that very moment the real TalosSofia materialized with a sparkling shimmer. With her appeared a large force of BladeAmazons. Like her they wore divine magical armor of high power and carried other devices of the same quality.

TalosSofia picked up her daughter and held TalosSashi at her side. She sighed heavily. “TalosSashi, please never pretend to be me again unless it is vital to do so. You could get attacked by a force too powerful for you to deal with.” She turned to Jadecora. “Who, what, would do such blasphemy and how did they get away with it? How did they get into the most secure part of a very secure Vandegar?”

TalosSashi might have sulked at being told off but she was too fascinated by what was going on.

0046(0000)0006: LUCKYTHIRTEEN: BACKGROUND EVENTS

Jadecora shook her head in wonder. “How did they manage to do this to a Divine Temple in Divinia itself? Something is very wrong but perhaps...” She paused while looking very thoughtful. Then she spoke again. “We will do what we can to fix matters up but the AllDivine Temple will take both time and energy to fix.”

At that moment the whole temple complex glowed briefly, shimmered and then everything was fixed up as brand new, including the smaller Temple of the AllDivine. The AllDivine had acted to rebalance matters as it often did at times of great crisis. TalosSashi did not pick up the significance of what just took place, being fascinated by what happened right in front of her, but TalosSofia was well aware of the implications and Jadecora was even more so.

HERE STARTS CHAPTER EIGHT: UNFRIENDLY COMPETITION

SUPER TAMRIEL SAGA

0047(0008)0001: LUCKYTHIRTEEN: UNFRIENDLY COMPETITION

Jadetaer lived in the Grand Imperial City and with her was a family of parents, grandparents, siblings and other relatives along with pets and yet others. The family had lived in the house for many generations. The Majestico Exotic Goods and Services Emporium, had been open for a very long time. It was generally known as the Majestico Emporium, being known for its amazing range of exotic items and services that it sold, including magical ones.

Much magic in the Empire was focused on military matters, security, healing, the making of magical devices and the desires of the wealthy. The Majestico Emporium was different; it catered to many odd, but important needs, with or with out magic. It never involved itself with dark magic of any kind, staying away from necromancy or darker daedric magic. It catered to those with less money and refused to give exclusive service to the wealthy.

Jadetaer made her way through the Imperial Market District of the Grand Imperial City, past tall statues and grand appearing structures with archways, columns and archways. She loved to walk through the district at times, with its many shops and other commercial buildings such as workshops and warehouses. Sometimes she bought interesting items. Yet this time it was business for Jensine, the owner-manager of a pawnshop, was concerned about a new shop that had opened and the way that it was doing business.

Jensine ran the large, bustling pawnshop named the Good As New. She gave fair loans for fair profit and thus she was popular while many other pawnshops were far from being so. Nor did she do business with the Thieves Guild, which too many pawnshops were only happy to do. Beggars, and poor families, got 'special loan deals' from Jensine. A fine polished box would be placed in the shop for one copper-eagle and then bought back for the same; only the box went in empty and came out full of basic, useful resources. Poor families, beggars, and others such really paid Jensine with valuable information.

Jensine refused to deal in dark magical stuff, such as soulstones, and did not really deal with magical stuff much at all.

In practical good quality casual gear, Jadetaer entered the pawnshop. People smiled, greeting her warmly enough. Nobody hassled Jadetaer, or her siblings, for there was something about them that just made people 'sense' would not be a good idea. Yet she wore no armor and carried no obvious weapons.

Jensine smiled at Jadetaer, quietly finished some business with a working man and then met with Jadetaer in a small office room. They sat, facing each other, on good quality but practical wooden chairs. Jensine was the Chairwoman of the Society of Concerned Merchants, an organization that she had created. It was another merchant, in that society, who had pointed out that there was a problem and that Jensine was the one that Jadetaer needed to speak to.

Jensine spoke out. “Thoronir, the new merchant, has been selling fine goods at ridiculously low prices for what he is selling. Though I doubt he is outright evil, I suspect that he has made a shady deal of some kind with a man called Agamir.”

Jadetaer frowned. “I know him, have even spoken to him twice. A very nasty man that and one that the Thieves Guild refused to admit into their ranks. The Imperial Sheriffs would love a chance to deal with him as would the Sheriffs Guild. They say he has had dealings with some very shadowy factions including the Dark Brotherhood and the Crimesters Guild. I even heard he trades with necromancers and the darker kinds of daedric worshipers.”

SUPER TAMRIEL SAGA

0048(0008)0002: LUCKYTHIRTEEN: UNFRIENDLY COMPETITION

Crimesters Guild was the smaller, weaker, nastier version of the Thieves Guild. The Dark Brotherhood had begun to fall out of favor with the Empire thanks to a series of troubling incidents and the rise of the more professional, secular Assassins Guild. The Assassins Guild followed no shadowy deity of death but had a very strict code of conduct.

Jadetaer nodded. “I would like those boxed crystals that you gained five days ago, as payment for solving this problem for honest local merchants. You know the ones that I mean. Openly you can pay me 100 goldworth but that will go to the Orderhood of Compassion.”

The 'crystals' were rare, valuable spiritual harmonic ones that could be both very beneficial or harmful, depending on how they were used and how much skill, experience, the user had. Jensine nodded with only a couple seconds of hesitation. She really could not do much with the crystals and the person who had taken the loan had not come back to reclaim them within the agreed upon time limit.

Jensine nodded. “They are yours!” She did not bother to ask how Jadetaer had known about the crystals. The 'Jades' seemed to know a good deal about almost everything.

Jadetaer spoke some more. “I will go and speak to Thoronir and see what I can learn from doing so.”

Thoronir's shop, the Copious Coinpurse, was only one shopping block away past some weapon smiths and blade shops. It was across from the famous bookshop known as the First Edition. While many shops sold books, if they had them, bookshops were far less common that specialized in selling them. Books were becoming more common in the empire, especially of the cheaper, blander paperbacks, but were still generally expensive and limited in number. Unlike some bookshops, the First Edition was happy to trade in the cheaper 'paperbacks' but they had their own section of the shop.

The Copious Coinpurse was smaller than Jensine's shop or the First Edition. It was crowded with a strange choice of goods and as soon as Jadetaer walked in there she frowned hard, she knew that these were grave robbers' goods. Yet she also smelt something else, from some of the goods, that was even more disturbing; the goods were unusual and though very cleaned, smelt subtly of undeath. Now, where had they come from?

Thoronir was a plump Bosmer but was not from Valenwood, the home land Province of the Bosmer Mer, having been born in Cyrodiil itself but not the Grand Imperial City to which he came recently. He was guarded about where he had come from.

He had a few customers but soon Jadetaer was at the counter. Beautiful, sexy, Jadetaer had little trouble flirting with Thoronir so that soon he was telling her more than perhaps he would have wanted to if his head was clearer. Yet he did manage not to say anything that would implicate himself even as he studied her breasts carefully.

Jadetaer was more interested in the goods that 'smelt of undeath' than she was the 'grave goods' but she was intent on dealing with both issues quickly. She went into 'stealth mode' and waited, observing the Copious Coinpurse until Thoronir departed from it after a busy day's selling. She followed him as he took a stroll through some gardens in the district and then when he went to a local inn favored by many of the merchants as a place to relax at in the evenings before they headed home to bed. It was no accident that it was called the Merchants' Inn. Jadetaer had been there a few times before so nobody there considered her visit unusual, not even Thoronir. Indeed he had met her briefly there once before.
