Ye-gawds.... Is LOOT still showing those error messages?
If it is, one of the big issues is that you haven't cleaned any of your DLC .esm files.
For that, you need to know how to work with TESVedit. All of those 'Identical to Master' records and deleted NavMeshes are going to create some problems.

No.

You DO NOT Clean any game held BY STEAM..EVER.

Tamper with steam files breaks them. Your free to do anything you want to mod's, just leave steam files alone.

steam files can change without notice.

This is not about "LOOT". This is not even about that type of modding.

This is simply about freezing.

I actually think I've fixed it. I've played for about an hour without any sort of freeze. It was actually NMC's texture pack causing the freezes. I've resorted my load order with FOMM as you suggested which unfortunately still caused me to freeze so I tried uninstalling NMC and the freezing has stopped.

Thanks a lot!

I've also been playing around with the different file packs for NMC (performance, lite, maximum etc.). I had "maximum" which was the initial file I had and this was causing freezes. I am also using the 4gb patch, LAA, .ini edits etc. but this does not help.

Using the "performance" pack seems to work but I'll play a bit longer with this pack to see if it causes any freezes. If it does, I'll do the same test run with the "lite" pack. If that freezes too I can just uninstall NMC altogether as the hour-playthrough I did was without NMC mods and it did not freeze once.

Thanks all for your help - I appreciate it.

I just ran your saved game on raw default, no mods at all and it runs smooth as silk, could handle fat man gone crazy, traversed through doors and exteriors to interiors.

Could.nt find any issues with your code at all.

I'm glad the code at least works. I've had one freeze (Fallout 3 has stopped working) in a two-hour playthrough after downgrading NMC from maximum to performance pack. I'm glad I can finally play the game now so I would say this issue has (finally and thankfully) been resolved. Thanks a lot friend.

run Fomm and apply the tweak, fake live dll , and then see how things work out. you'll fin it in fomm's drop down tool menu.

It says not to use if I am using DLC :

"Installs a fake version of the games for windows live dll

Prevents fallout from loading the real xlive.dll at all, and enables some extra code patching options that require disabling g4wl's hash checking
Improves program startup time, and possibly fps
Do not use if you use DLC or want achievements
Additional code patching options can be accessed by clicking 'settings'
The save games associated with g4wl profiles can still be accessed by clicking settings and using an offline profile"
