I love New Vegas, but player housing has always been an issue with me.

There's no place in the base game that has everything. 2 places come close, the Presidential Suite in the Lucky 38 and Harper's shack, however, both are lacking...

The suite is tedious to get to, multiple loading screens, and it lacks a campfire.

Harper's Shack has everything but a water source, the bed doesn't grant a well-rested bonus, it's messy as heck inside the shack, and then there's the possiblity of a deathclaw being way too close to you when you fast travel.

That being said, I'm requesting a player house from anyone willing to listen. I've got a location, a name, the interior, and even the ambient tracks picked out.

So, directly south of the Smith Mesa Prospector Camp is a small, unmarked campsite with a rusted out Cryslus Corvega, some wooden planks for seating, an unlit campfire, a large boulder, some scraggly brush, a Nevada agave plant, and a banana yucca plant, both of which are in close proximity to the boulder.

I was thinking of having a hatch nestled just behind the scraggly brush and banana yucca plant, tucked right up next to the boulder, kind of hidden from view, that would lead to a 4-room bunkerwith all the bells and whistles, including:

An entrance hallway with a ladder to the outside world.

From the hallway, branching off would be three rooms:

Kitchen - dining table and two chairs, oven *when viewing oven, have option to create survival recipes*, counter top, fridge, metal wall sink (rad free), a dark wooden shelf, and a trash can.

Living room: ceiling string lights (similar to the ones in Fallout 3 in the Love Machine themed house in Megaton), couch, yellow padded chair, coffee table, small side table next to the couch, a prewar box tv on a cabinet, and a shelf with a radio tuned to New Vegas Radio.

Workshop: workbench, reloading bench, a metal box next to each labeled appropriately, a metal shelf, some lockers.

Bedroom: (branching off the living room) double bed, prewar with pillows and blankets, a night stand, a dresser (vault style, a trunk at the foot of the bed, a footlocker under the side of the bed, a Nuka Cola lamp that you can toggle on and off.

Bathroom: (branches from the bedroom), toilet, sink, bathtub.

Each room would have a wall switch for the lights which could be toggled on and off, (Nuka lamp aside).

And just for laughs, a tiny, friendly fire gecko that occasionally breathes fire as a dynamic action.

Name: (STC) Forgotten Bunker or Bomb Shelter

Ambient tracks while inside: Explore 1 through 6 from Fallout 3 and Drwam Town from Fallout 2.

I've always though that little campsite was cool, but I never was able to find any information on it on the net.

If anyone is interested, has feedback, or criticism, please let me know. I'm open to any and all feedback.

Thanks everyone.

That one is really good. I was checking it out a few days ago.

I plan on adding it to my load order, but even as cool as that is, I'd still like to follow through on my idea, though I know nothing about creating mods, or even if I'm able to do so.

Lol, that's the one. As brief as it's shown there in the beginning, that is indeed the spot.

I always thought it was cool how they'd put it there, but I was always curious as to why. Like, with the noticable ambient music change, it kinda makes you wonder if there's maybe some background behind it, or at least a reason as to why the developer originally created it.
