Karmamuscle
Hey,In my current playthrough I haven't been able to get a single item with fortify smithing on it. Neither drops nor merchants seems to get me this enchant. So I bit the bullet and created me some hide bracers with this enchant on it through the console. However, when I try to disechant the bracers, the game tells me I already know the enchant, which I do not. Is this behavior intended or is there some way I need to accomplish this. modder3434
technically you can't create anything from the console, you just add something to your inventory via the console. When you do this you may stumble across playable weapons and armor/clothing that is not anywhere else in the game. its called cut content. however you can find armor with the fortify smithing in game via merchants and some good ol' honest adventuring. what mods do you have? and what version of skyrim 1.8 or 1.7? thomriis
Go to any Orc stronghold and a guard will tell you that in order to enter the stronghold you must find the forgemasters fingers and return them to the chief. (This quest is available to all races except orcs) Which is automatically permitted entrance to all strongholds. This quest is radiant and the quest location for the gauntlets depends on which stronghold you choose. The gauntlets has an 12% fortify smithing skill and can be disenchanted after the quest. Hope it helps!!! And good luck finding them.

Gremxula
SKYRE disables disenchanting of enchanted smithing items and removes all the normal enchanted smithing items from loot.Forgemasters Fingers, Notched Pickaxe and "Well Rested Bonus" are all that's left.
