Katarsi
How do I make a combat music replacer? I have a song ready, I just need guidance how to do this. It's for personal use. Any help is appreciated.

thumbincubation
You will need to convert it to .xwm first. There are audio converters on both the SE and Oldrim nexus, though I cannot say which is best. I experimented with this a while back and used unfuzer, but I don't know how that compares to the others, or if it's even still in use. Once converted to xwm, if it's a replacer, open the sounds archive in your data folder. Find the title of the music you want it to replace. Rename it to match and insert it into data, following the same file path. For ex., if you go into sounds and decide that music\combat\mus_combat_01.xwm is the one you want your song to replace, name it exactly that, and then set it up as ...data > music > combat > mus_combat_01.xwm in loose files. The game will find it before it looks in the archive. If you wanted to add this music to the possible music that could play during combat, then you have creation kit and a bigger mess involved, which I don't remember enough of to be helpful. That being said, even if you want to go that route later, replacers are the easiest to undo (move or delete the file) so they are the best for testing, to make sure it sounds/works right, before you go for something more permanent.
