zBeeble42
I've got a good repair skill myself... but when I find new unique items --- say a plasma laser --- for the first time, I have to wait until I find more of them before I can get them into good repair. Most of the repair shops only repair to around 50%. So are there any "good' repair shops?
MaXiMiUS
Go to Canterbury Commons, and invest in the travelling merchants. Once you invest in Lucky Harith (or whatever his name is) he can repair to 70%
Olurum
I was looking for a high repair shop too. Too bad that because of my level, any merchant that loads into existance is instantly turned into mincemeat by a deathclaw... literally within a few seconds before I can even reach them. So I refused to invest in any of them because of their high chance of death. I'll have to wait for a mod that makes merchants scale in level like everything else does. Merinid
2Olurum I think making merchants (or a single merchant you have invested in) essential chars will solve the problem. ;) Of course they won't be strong enough to take out a deathclaw, but at least they will never die until you save them. ComicKaze
Lucky actually has a repair skill of 75 in my game and I'm a level 18 character. I've never had an issue with merchants dying. Then again, I only ever meet them outside of towns (I will goto Megaton or Cantubury commons and just wait there).
mikekearn
Crazy Wolfgang has the best repair in the game after you invest in him twice. It's the only reason to, as all he sells is junk readily available elsewhere. And I agree with Merinid; if you are playing on the PC, making the merchants essential is a must. I've had many occasions where I couldn't leave Megaton by the door because no matter how long I waited, a Deathclaw was waiting for me when I left. I had to fast travel away and come back on foot to be able to save whichever merchant happened to be outside at the time.
