PREMIUM IS EITHER A JOKE OR A SCAM (capped download speed)

I purchased premium membership for the uncapped download speed and I can't go above 200-250 kb/s average. I've tried logging out and back in, restarting Vortex, manual downloads, and changing server locations (tried all servers).

 

I've since seen other posts stating the SAME issue.

 

If there's a way to fix this please let me know but until then I'll hold my opinion that:

I'm currently paying for the same download speed I had on a free account. What - the - actual - F??

 

Again, if there's a way to fix this let me know. I'll retract my opinion (not that it seems to matter) in full and even apologize for it.

 

If this isn't a scam then you should pause all current memberships having this issue and suspend new membership purchases until you've fixed the problem. Or at the very least post a giant warning on the purchase page that this issue actually exists.

 

Otherwise it's just a scam, plain and simple.

The uncapped download speeds only really matter if you have a really fast download speed from your ISP. It's no fault of the Nexus if you happen to have slow internet speeds. And no I'm not a "Nexus shill", I'm just stating facts. If you can only get up to 250kb/s normally on a download then there's no reason to go uncapped because you'll never reach the cap in the first place.

As Uriah pointed out, Premium is not a "scam", there are so many possible things between our servers and your home PC that could cause issues. With Premium we remove any limits we impose on you, but we can't guarantee super fast speeds if you connection is bad. You may have noticed the site itself has been slow recently? This is because we've been so busy over the holidays our site and download servers have been maxed out worldwide, leading to much slower downloads than normal. It's an extreme case, but things should start to normalise as we go into the new year.

That article also gives instructions on how to properly report download issues, if it doesn't help you solve it.

 

I'll lock this thread as it doesn't have anything to do with Vortex support.
