Just a thought, but first things first.

I love Battletech, but I'm no Modder. I can barely figure out how to install Mods let alone create them.

 

I have a mod idea for a skilled team from the Modding community. (YES, I said team because this is a big one!)

 

The Argo,once upgraded, has very large active Mech-Bay, as well as a large Barracks. Yet these are highly under used. You are running a mercenary COMPANY with huge and highly mobile HQ. Yet you can only take on single lace missions. That's just.... Wrong!

 

The Mod i'm proposing aims to fix this.

 

What if the company could afford to buy and field a second Leopard. The Argo has another docking ring, so why not use it!

 

This could allow for three possibilities:

 

1. Take on multiple jobs. A Team would be the normal game missions, While B Team could be resolved on a percentage chance based on things like Mech type, tonnage, load-out, pilot skill level, etc!

2. Take on larger contracts that would require more then a single lance.

3. Have the ability to call down your own Reinforcements.

#1 - That auto-resolver would have to be some complex entity coping with all sorts like different distances of engagements (LRMs firing before MLasers), the effectiveness of stealth tech etc. It's kind of like creating the auto-resolve function in a Total War game.

#2 - AFAIK the idea of the player fielding more than 4 'mechs has come up repeatedly and no-one's been able to work out how to do it. At least I think that's what LadyAlekto said.

That said, keep your eye on Mission Control (here on Nexus) as I think as that mod grows the functionality it provides could help get close to what you're talking about
