Hey Folks,

 

I am a student at Hertfordshire University here in UK doing my degree in Games Art. Over the summer I've build this guy and I am willing to donate it to public, only I someone needs to do the technical stuff with model, like rig it :P. Im also unfamiliar with the SDK, I dont have it set up, so....

Would that be worth including into the Monster Mod?

 

It needs a few tweaks, but the most of the work is there. Also the spear and the mace are unwrapped as is the guy.

Also working on a chitin weapon pack from Morrowind, here is a WIP of a waraxe:

Im having trouble getting example models out of Skyrim with current tools available also not having enough time since Im studying at the uni. This model at the moment is 4,6k polies, I wonder what is the usual limit for waraxes, like forsworn axe... What is the texture size? Im baking 2k textures but I can always downres them.

 

Yeah Ill probably use this thread If I make any new content. I wanna make the chitin spear from Morrowind next, I really like the shape of it, then move onto sword and dagger and mace eventually. These models dont take long to make, I wonder with all the hype about bringing Morrowind stuff with official DLC, wont Bethesda do all these weapons before me :P?

FO3 Archive Utility should work to extract models, at least i never had a problem on 3 different computers. Limit, well - vanilla ones use a few hundred, mine are mostly 1-5k, i've seen many models with much more polygons - my fav. example is the flintlock pistol with 100k (seems the creator was too lazy for a normal map) and even this high poly model ran without problems on my 4year old computer.

 

Textures...vanilla mostly uses 512 and maybe 1024, 2048 in HD pack, 4096 works as well afaik, i'm using 1-2k myself.
